6MW could produce 105 GWh/y. The article states 34GWh/y which would mean an efficiency of 32%.

Then again, it's twice the capacity.

If those turbines can produce twice the amount of energy, it could make sense.

Another interesting question is perhaps what each turbine costs. £28.5m (the secured funding) might not be the total sum required. Of that was the case, each turbine would cost only around £6.4m which would be great as, I think, the AR1500 was somewhere around £10m to £12m. Not sure if that number is true though.

All positive imo. Possibly hearing Proteus or any other TS turbine producing company would have to scale up to meed demand wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen.

Makes me think: how many turbines can they produce in a year? If MeyGen want to roll out the next phase.. can they produce this fast?

If so.. why and why would this money go into experimental form of energies? Side question: at what point would tidal stream energy not be considered experimental anymore?

I can share this feeling. My impatience is growing daily. Mainly because my expectations are currently quite high but perhaps things will take longer.

On one hand, a policy shift by the government could catapult this stock in either direction, on the other hand there's Uskmouth and its promising projects. Those might take some time until they are reflected by the companies valuation.

Imo what's missing here is not the outlook.. but a catalyst of some sort. Whatever that is. People need to see ans start believing in the company. This in turn could itself be a catalyst for the company as it would give them access to funding. This door is, in a way, closed right now.

Perhaps I'm just speculating here but the truth is also that I'm still in the red, but convinced the next significant news will move me into the green zone from which I don't see the company fall down again.

Still need to be patient I guess.. I am in since around March 2020 ..

Speaking of opportunities: CfD AR7 should soon have a budget iirc? There was talk about increasing the ring fenced budget for tidal to £30m. Up from 10 to 15 so far.

If this would happen, SAE would likely be able to double CfDs for MeyGen which would be significant.

And si far, things have improved here so we might get a budget increase. Maybe not £30m but I think it'll, at the very least, be higher than last time.

Unless all that money has to be allocated for the arms race ahead that is..

A bit contradicting because most here would agree that the stock appears "dead" comparatively speaking. Not a lot of trading or attention spent on SAE.

But most would disagree that people "ramp up" SAE because there's simply no audience to ramp towards.

However, I'd argue and say that's kinda that worst time to get out now that the company has a promising outlook but I don't know what your position looked like. If you bought at 1 GBX, taking profits I could understand but selling at a loss now with the current outlook? Why?

Anyways, it hardly matters. We'll see if your call was a good decision in a few months I guess.

Carbon Capture... that's such a weird concept to me. I find it hard to believe that this can ever be the solution to help fight climate change. It feels like a waste of money for a project that just keeps us occupied instead of addressing and fixing the emissions in the first place..

And then consuming millions instead of providing it to technologies that can prevent CO2 emissions..

Well.. do we know how funding for tidal can reach SAE? I assume that's a different mechanism that has nothing to do with CfD? I guess there's going to be auctions nonetheless?

Although it's still not entitled clear to me how SAE can deliver the next phase at MeyGen. Talking about raising funds, ordering turbines from Proteus still won't be cheap I presume.
