I don't think they HAVE to b t they almost always do say - "unavailability of documents", lack of time to decide" "missing consultations" are favourites - nothing you can do about it in reality

The problems are well documented by Cinders - it all comes down to the EU Commissioner who aid during the 2008 Financial Crisis " we all know what we should do - the problem is how do we do it and get re-elected".

It's not the Councillors - it's their electorate - no-one in the UK is in favour of change and I'm sure if TESCO decided to build a bloody great warehouse at the end of Cinders garden he'd be out there protesting like the swampies.

The alternative is totally centralised planning - - Singapore is a good example - which sure as hell gets things done but you don't have any say , nor can you stop it. A few years back a whole area of Hong Kong suddenly was taken over to build a new depot for the Metro system - the first thing those living there knew about it was when they got the notice that their land had been (note not will be) taken over for the amount below and please forward you r bank details so we can pay you - and you have to be out in 10 weeks.....................

normally its about 30ft lengths made up into "stands" of 3 pieces - which are racked vertically on the rig floor so each one is 90 -100 ft.

i can't remember what the top Reservoir is exactly (remember the well is slightly deviated ) - just over 2000 ft measured depth I think

The OGA & SCC have but I think you need a specific permit from the EA when you want to start - as HH2z wasn't planned as an injector that means a change of status - plus the initial reservoir model is clearly wrong so that's another set of hoops to go through with both the EA and OGA

They're not drilling - they may be doing a work-over to try and improve flow rates

True Cinders BUT the EA have become very very picky about water re-injection - they even seem to object to putting it back into the zone it came out of and as for putting into say a lower zone (such as the Lower Portland....... basically they have very little understanding of fluid behavior at depth - they can only think in terms of the very near surface but they can cause a lot of expense and delays and in some cases I believe have flatly refused permission for re-injection

IBug is right about water - in itself it's not a deal breaker - almost all fields produce water eventually

What you have to watch is what they do with the water - re-injection is good , dumping over the side (offshore) is even better tho hard to do these days. What kills onshore projects in the UK especially is the need to TRUCK water and then pay to have it cleaned up. Transport costs are about 10% of the total take, treatment costs can be 2-26% of the take. Somewhere like Avington or Lidsey are killed by water disposal costs.

Levels at HH are not currently at those levels I think but it needs watching

Sounds likely - tho what the timings are no-one knows . They're unlikely to perf at night - most people like to be sure they can see what they're doing so if the kit arrived today they'll rig it up this afternoon evening and get the charges in the hole and below ground ASAP - I seem to remember it takes over 12 hours to trip to the reservoir depth so maybe around mid day Thursday they'll fire the guns. Then they have to pull out and clean up flow - or run in and out a few times to clean up. So that'll be Friday .

Perhaps they 'll flow test over the weekend then make up the production string and run that in early/mid next week.

Expect all sorts of wild rumours until the company puts out an RNS
