At 30.01% CA would HAVE to make an offer for the rest of the shares - I think they're carefully managing it to get as close as possible without having to do that

and its not just the Italians - remember the UK Govt has stalled for 40 years on paying the Iranians back the cash they paid for tanks that were never delivered........................... and we admit we owe the money!

As I keep saying I think RKH will win the arbitration BUT getting the money out of the Italian Govt may take years. Look how long it tool to get the money out of the Indian Govt or the Argentinean Govt by people who won their arbitration cases.

and these are amateurs compared to the Italian Govt at delay - I've worked there I can tell you it's an art form...........

No Ocelot - its that the market is worried by a company that can never get its sums right nor deliver on time. They are clearly running out of money to keep paying the non SFB bills . They couldn't raise what they wanted (=needed) last time round and the next time, in January, God knows what terms they'll have to offer to get the cash to keep the lights on.

People are also worried about the effect of the hedge if everything continues to move to the right - even Echo Delta is starting to have kittens.

The total population of the FI is 2840 people - a small UK village in other words. They don't have , and admit they don't have, the expertise to do a lot of things. I doubt there's single person who knows anything about managing large infrastructure projects. They're very good at building small items - such as the Oil field bases or the odd house but that's it.

They buy in expertise but they stay close to the UK Govt - who after all provide the defence forces. They will take the final decision but all the analysis , tendering etc will be handled out of the UK and advised by people like the OGA and the Dept of Business etc etc.

Another thought - high gas prices will improve the chances of the Shell farmin moving ahead - it was a big disappointment when it was kicked down the road but at these prices there will be some interest in perhaps moving ahead a bit faster - especially if Nordstream2 is in danger of being kept closed

Nothing of course - the only issue is can they manage a development offshore? If you look at their management in Israel and Houston they are seem to be mainly portfolio managers. Not much sign of a lot of depth in detailed engineering. They could of course outsource all that to someone else - half a dozen big US, UK or European outfits could do it for them - Wood Group or Petrofac for example. I'd guess that FIG will be looking for advice from the OGA in the UK - they use the BGS for their exploration oversight IIRC.

same on other boards - never loses it, never says ANYTHING against the Management. I reckon it's someone who works for the Nomad , broker or similar
