I understood there WAS seismic but it was 2D - and therefore probably no line along the drilling path. Even at HH, where it look as if they did have a line close to the apparent HH2z sidetrack they still had surprises. Even with 3d you can go wrong - Saltfleetby has a 3d and that didn't stop the need for multiple side tracks.

The Operator question is likely t be the main one - approval to be Licence operator is probably easy - but to run the actual development is a different game. They'd have to show some serious technical assistance -was involved - someone like Wood Group, Petrofac or similar

Interesting about Apex - Allen D Howard doesn't list them on his Linkedin profile. He seems to have gone from NUTECH to Throne Energy (which he ran in parallel with his time at NUTECH) and then in 2019 to Solid Rock Energy Partners. He doesn't list UKOG either.

That sounds as if his time at APEX came to a tough conclusion..........

IIREC APEX did a lot of technical work for UKOG - they were providing US expertise on the Kimm as there was no-one in Europe. Bunty Bay and Cartwright Consulting looks like the common practise of shunting cash into a personal company to reduce NI by taking it out as a dividend - but I think that may not be worth doing anymore

More than half the N Sea is run by foreign companies - many based in places that are nowhere near as close as Israel politically. If there is a problem with Israeli operatorship I'd guess it would be in the Falklands - the population are pretty John Bull. On the other hand they accepted them as partners so probably not - any port in a storm most likely - (other than Argentineans)

That is the understatement of the century - it's essentially the oldest part of British Gas - the bit that was never modernised in the 70's and '80's. Slow and expensive doesn't really cover just how obstructive they can be

Also happens offshore and sometimes with very large companies as well. problem is that the drilling company has many opportunities to play the three shell game and it's almost impossible to benchmark their numbers. On the other hand setting up an operation in Turkey for a single licence would be slow, and very expensive, so it's probably the best answer - if not very perfect

Absolutely - bu t what they don't know is what the EA is going to ask for. IRRC EDR had to do quite a bit of remedial work on a site due the EA. I'm not a great fan of ANGS management but it would be crazy to spend a lot of money only to find that you had to remove all the kit to fix something.

They should say that and not hide, hoping it will all come good tomorrow tho'.

Normally they would have to buy gas in the market to provide the the other side of the hedge - that's always the danger with hedging. I seem to remember that Cathay Pacific took a real bath a few years back when they mis-hedged the price of aviation fuel
