Mymine, I'm not in favour of rationing, but when the market price does the rationing, the less well off are hit unjustly hard. The poor in remote areas with no public transport and a long way to work and shop, hardest.

The economics of recycling rest on commodity (and to varying extent energy) prices. Lots of mobiles & IT kit have been consigned to landfill, containing valuable commodities. Tricky to separate @ UK wage levels, someone might be glad of it.
