The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
The parallels with roulette (or any gambling game) are valid.
Get lucky and your numbers come up, you win. Walk away you keep your profit. Double down and hope to win more will usually end in eventual total loss. Especially if you ignore signs that the game may be rigged.
Buy shares in a dog at the right time, and see a good rise. Cash in at that moment you keep your profit. Get greedy and keep topping up might well result in losses wiping out all sums invested.
Hi Lawrence, long time no posts on this board. Nice to see you are still around.
No, I do not intend to buy back in. Just to give a tip to help you and all the other gold bugs on here -
Subscribe (free) to "illuminatisilver" on youtube. They give realistic forecasts on the price of gold and silver, amongst many other topics, and give unbiased and uncannily accurate comment. They are a very small British not-for profit service, but it would appear that most of their subscribers are in the USA. Anyone serious about investing in precious metals, cryptos, and the fate of the dollar, should definitely subscribe.
All the best.
You seem to be keen on forensic analysis, so here is a little project that might keep you amused for an hour or so.
Read the posting history of LondonVP from start. See if you spot the massive error (not the spelling or grammar!), and let us know what you think.
I seriously doubt if it was TW who had your post removed, as he published it in full on his site, with appropriate comments of course. I know he does not monitor these or any other boards, so I sent him the copy for comment.
We all know that the Company published an RNS stating that the company was not under investigation by the FCA. It is entitled to do that if it has not been notified that it is under “formal investigation”. However, we also know that the stock is still suspended whilst the FCA are looking into “certain matters”. This might of course develop into something more serious if they turn something up.
Posts repeating that “The Company is not under investigation” are thus a waste of space, as are those who post them.
Fear not, I’m still here. This board beats daytime television hands down!
As I posted yesterday, I do hope this share becomes unsuspended soon and that the Reddit mob pile in. Then hopefully those who invested more than they could afford to risk might be able to exit relatively unscathed, or maybe even with a profit.
NEW – take note and stick with your original plan
extrader – Great post, I was just about to make a similar observation, but you have done it better.
I have read and re-read my post, and can find no content suggesting that this share is a scam.
I would suggest you read it again, or even refer to my posting history to ascertain what I actually think, although most of my October posts were deleted.
This will be my last response.
Yes - if you made your investment decision as a result of reading posts on here. It is probable that many others have done just that and may now be regretting it.
Incidentally, I do hope that trading in this share is resumed, and that the Reddit mob pile in. That would allow many of those invested who cannot afford the risk to exit with minimal, or without loss.
A great post, but with one flaw.
It is the bulls on here who are suffering from the syndrome you describe, not those who post research on what the Company and its officer actually do, rather than what they put out as spin.
All the “research” on here is gleaned from Company press releases, paid-for research, RNSs, AZ Tweets, AZ paid-for interviews, AZ webcasts, and Company emails to investors. All this research therefore comes from one source – the Company.
This in turn is regurgitated time and again on the bulletin boards, and swallowed whole by the gullible masses, who become brainwashed by universally bullish opinion and are persuaded to join in. Any negative posts are of course met with derision, abuse, filtering, and reporting, in order to dismiss any contrary opinion.
You have explained the SYME phenomenon perfectly.
Good to see all the passengers are still arguing over the dinner menu even hours after the ship hit an iceberg.
Must be the reassuring strains of the Orchestra. (Group? BOOM BOOM)
Just my little joke to cheer up all the abusive trolls, just in case the fat lady really is warming up. Seems there is not much point in my writing warnings about this share any more.
Incidentally, did you spot the (probable) company stooge who started posting super-ramps in the run up to the “option” expiry? No prizes, just a gold star for being the intelligence one.
Take no notice New.
This board is full of paranoid trolls who think everyone not posting blind faith in this company is Tom Winnifrith or one of his acolytes. They are currently going through a traumatic time at the moment as dim realisation is beginning to dawn that the fat lady may be warming up in the wings.
LondonVP
I seriously doubt that it was TW (or one of his 6 minions) who removed your post.
You must have impressed him mightily as he reproduced it in full on his site, with appropriate comments on the content of course. I don't think he reads these boards as he thanked a reader for pointing it out.
He did not even put it behind the paywall! You must be very pleased to have reached a much wider audience.
Naughty, naughty Lex – Copyright infringement?
Regardless how valid the points made within the article are, the faithful on this board will just poo-poo them and trust in their god AZ.
The suspension was certainly not in the script, and the forced publication of accounts has certainly stopped the carefully ramped share price action since September, which allowed the loan boys et al to unload. I guess they still have at least a couple of billion to dispose of, so the latest events will certainly cause a change of plan. Topping up and new punters are probably off the menu for the time being.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the suspension is lifted. If the loan boys panic then it might be a race off the blocks at opening time. For the ostriches it is maybe too late, the elephants are here.
