Of course there is a lot of competition out there and it is what keeps the wheels of industry / technology turning.
However, it is important to remember it is not just about the size of the chip, as stated from a chart a few months ago a 10nm or 7nm chip can outperform a 5nm chip depending on the density of the chip and also the superiority / quality of the said company's individual algorithm programming applied to the chip. It's what you do to the chip that counts be it 3nm, 5nm etc.
Plenty of mining pools using various mining rig types who will continue to succeed and the market is big enough for a few more individual start ups such as QBT.

Suthy, FigTree, DS Flat or any genuine (lth's), what do you think the first news will be? 2nd Patent or do you think FG will put out an RNS which will contain numerous pieces of results, there is quite a list.

fudge I'm a little bit confused as you state you have been invested for 2 years, which I am not doubting. But last year alone ( 2021 ) QBT was the best performing stock on AIM, an sp rise of 975% so that's a multiple of nearly x 10. The first part of the rise in February was when it was called Clear Leisure and then again in October when it was QBT.
You should be in huge profit mate and that is what is confusing me with your rather down outlook.
You picked the top performing stock anywhere on AIM. I would be chuffed to bits mate and happy to wait just a couple of weeks or so to see if I could do it all again.

The Nov 30th RNS does state they are assuming filing of 2nd Patent by the end of Feb 22, so nothing overdue at this stage and hopefully we will have an update in the next 12 days or so, we may not of course and it could stretch in to March.

However, I think some on here need to take a step back and just appreciate the sheer complexity of what is trying to be achieved here. There are Global Behemoths throwing billions at this market 'space' still falling short of successful disruption.
For FG to have secured an NDA (at such short notice) with one of the 5 Global Semi Conductor Manufacturers suggests he had enough to convince them to come on board, remember ordinarily there is a standard 6 - 9 month waiting list for new entrants and FG secured it basically on demand. The Nov 05th RNS was full steam ahead with a 7nm chip with ASIC enhancement and in the same month Nov 30th we had the announcement of the 5nm NDA with technical support teams to boot.
This is cutting edge stuff and you cannot set a clock by it, the wait will be worth it if we can prove up progress on QBT's aims.

FigTree, thanks for posting the transcript which I briefly read through yesterday but have taken time today to fully digest the contents and more importantly the impact / significance the 3 examples given have had on Volkswagen, Save On & Multiverse ( European Bank ).
By using the quantum D Wave computer Volkswagen developed schedules which allowed them to paint up to 5 x more vehicles per paint change from previous schedules making a saving of 80% reduction in waste. Volkswagen became the largest car manufacturer in the world last year taking the No 1 spot from Toyota so that must be incredible savings on a huge scale.
Secondly, Save On by using D Wave reduced a particular optimisation problem from 25 hrs to less than 2 minutes!
Lastly, Multiverse reduced computer problem solving from 32 hrs to 171 seconds.
My point is as others have said it is not just about mining Bitcoin, the AI algorithm and problem solving technology can be and obviously is being used in a wide spectrum of scenario's from Industry & Banking alike.
As you say some possible hidden 'clues' in between the wording which may relate to QBT / FG.

bamb, it does give reassurance and thanks for posting but a question if I may, the e-mail reply starts " I won't be able...." so can I assume this is from FG himself as if it were from the Company / spokesperson it would have started "We...."
Sounds I am being picky but it would make a big difference if from FG as opposed to a generic pre-worded company reply.

600T you are a valid member of this board and your posts are welcome and well constructed, I genuinely believe neither FigTree nor notready were having a dig, imo, just with it being a chat board posts invite discussion, carry on posting mate and one thing I think we can all agree on is we are all on the same page with regards to the sp rising.

I would be over the moon for an rns stating we have successfully mined bitcoin!

We are just 3 weeks or so away from the end of a news rich month and their may be several rns updates in that time. I don't think FG will want to give snippets to prop up the sp as he will know a positive rns on achieving a faster mining speed will see a re-rate (of sorts).
Also I do disagree somewhat with the notion from some posters, but have total respect for their views, that if the lack of news for 3 mths was due to failures FG would have had to issue an update stating words to that effect.
It's the last thing you would do if you were continuing your R&D and were confident any problems would be overcome within the quoted timeframe of the last rns i.e by the end of February 2022, even if you were not confident you would still give yourself the best possible chance and take it to the wire timewise, it's human nature.
The majority of CEO's keep to their stated deadlines and FG will be no different and utilise all of that time in notching up achieved goal after goal.
Goals I expect to be announced this month include :

Patent 2 of improved ASIC Ultra Boost speeds borne out of the BTC testing with 'in house / cryptographers' algorithms.

Update on Artificial Intelligence improvements / resulting in successful mining attempts.

Progress / initial headway allowing integration with commercial FPGA chips / machines. ( That could be huge and on a Global scale )

News of any Bitcoins successfully mined with the rig / mining node that was delivered Dec 12th, and any revenue from that.

Any news whatsoever of success. even if not initially in the orders of magnitude, will have the potential of game changing / transformational to QBT. It will certainly be noted by the Majors and probably the unknown identity of the Company we have an NDA with will not let us out of their clutches and who would blame them. Expect a Takeover bid / Farm In , call it what you will but if it is with the likes of Intel then the Nasdaq listing could well be, as FigTree states Q3/4 this year.

What we don't want is an update from FG along the lines of "At this moment in time we have been unable to achieve the expected results, however, research is ongoing and we look forward to updating shareholders in the near future"
I genuinely do not believe that will be the case as it does appear we may already have success at twice the current fastest mining speeds but lets walk before we can run and any improvement whatsoever and we will be on a home run.

FG did move the goal posts following the NDA to develop a 5nm ASIC prototype instead of the planned 7nm as the technology greatly enhances performance, if successful, and did state he expected the 2nd patent to be filed by the Company's Cryptography expert by the end of February 2022.
So in all reality we are not overdue and still on plan timewise and agree fully with Suthy that simulations / testing will be in overdrive but also carefully managed to make sure when news is released all work has been proven and tested and any failings in R&D have been eradicated.
To that end, such is the complexity of the technical work required, I would even prefer a slight overrun if it means ensuring we get it 100% correct for market release.
That said FINTECH I agree 3 mths is a long time with no update and made more difficult with the anticipation of expectancy of "being the fastest miner on the planet"!
