Please do. There is a pressure group against the site, the Faversham Society, with whom I've been in contact with regarding VRFB's. IES promised to furnish them with details as well. As far as I can see the scheme will go ahead and the use of lithium batteries might well be challenged by the protesters.

You might be interested to know that the owners of the farm have a reputation for building and selling on and not running solar farms.

The Americans have taken the fire risk very seriously, IES says the subject comes up all the time in their negotiations with bodies over there, and the industry has formed a mitigation policy.

Of course all the measures have to work perfectly for them to have any chance of succeeding.

IES have said recently that Pivot have indicated that the ratio of lithium to vanadium batteries may be changed in IES's favour. Maybe that will help with lithium's workload and maybe the fire risk.

FYI, I recently wrote to the CEO of Kent Fire Services and the firefighters union representative outlining, with links, my concerns over fire risks at a huge local solar farm which has a huge lithium battery facility and has recently been granted planning permission. I went on to the fire services site and search for "lithium batteries" and only 1 reference came up so I guess the subject is not high on the awareness front. Ironically the reference was about a lithium fire with a hand held device. I have not had a reply yet from either party.

It is indeed. You also have to look at the change in style of management. Gone are the BS days. Realism is the order of the day.

Depends whether it is more or less than forecast. IES have not forecast a trading profit s I'm not expecting one.

The first thing it will show is a trading loss and this will be pounced upon by trolls as proof that the company is going nowhere and we should prepare for the worst.

Shows a definite trend towards storage which, as we know, is inevitable if you are going for all those renewables. Just hope that IES can grab some of the orders.

Its ridiculous to put a future valuation on this company by judging its's position right now. This is Aim and, like many companies on Aim, IES is full of potential and is in right place at the right time. Sure, £120mn plus right now looks suspect but the valuations are projected in to the future when IES's commercial position might be far more attractive than now, or it might not. The other point is that AIM valuations cannot be just tied to commercial profit and loss. The sentiment element is very strong here (both ways) and once the investor perception and sentiment soars so will the SP regardless of any commercial justification..
