Hi JT,
I know it has been talked about before, but do you have any idea where the shares that appear MIA go? Do MM's keep 'Stock'?
I asked about this previously but it was just after an 8.5.
Just trying to increase my understanding of how the market itself works.
Cheers.

I've been wondering about this too. Only really have questions, no answers.
Tilly/JT Macs do the figures that you see have historic daily totals and if so, do they cover all trades including after hours?
Accumulation has been mentioned several times, but to what end? MIA shares have definitely been a feature over the last couple of weeks and across a range of prices, therefore if it was for one big order it must be at a much higher price. They would also have to be very confident that the price is only going one way in the slightly longer term. They would have to be expecting to be able to sell at a profit or get the benefits of sale. Either way this points to profits for all of us in the future.
Do market makers carry 'stock' and if so, are they just holding more due to higher recent volumes? If this was the case surely the price, effectively managed by the market makers, would be causing the value of their stock to reduce too. Why?
Finally, is it just some sort of anomaly caused by the way things are calculated? In the same way as buys and sells are only an indication, if perhaps trades were made at the median price and couldn't be defined as either do they not show up in the buys and sells figures but do show up in the cumulative volume.
Any answers or guidance on this most welcome.

Be nice if he took his own advice. I don't mind people having a different opinion to me, but coming onto a BB where he isn't invested just because enjoys winding people up... I think he should invest in BIKE and get on it (DYOR)
I get slightly bogged down with details sometimes. My latest is the share price quoted on Google. I have just watched EUA go from 34p to 32p and back up to 32.9p in less than 30 seconds. That's a big movement in a very short time. Does anyone know what the source of the price quoted actually is? Is it just reporting the last trade?
While I'm here thanks to all the regular posters who keep me updated with data, some of which I understand. Tilly & JT is the data you post part of what you see on Level 2?

Does anyone know if there has to be a conditional contact before a bid is put to the shareholders? If so, would it normally bind both parties? I'm assuming that any buyer has to make a commitment before a vote and wondering if we are able to consider a higher late bid at that point.
Thanks for all the replies. It's interesting, luck seems to play a large part. I like Casper's idea with the RNSs, will give that a go. I already have a (long) list of companies that have been mentioned on here, started researching but nothing left to invest at the moment. I'll leave the forecasting of the SP to those better or bolder than me. I'll take any profit, but would prefer a vineyard to a bottle of wine (or rum).
Glad to be on board. GLA
Good morning all,
First time I have ever posted on a bb. I'm invested here since mid July and have topped up a few times recently. I have read this board with interest, almost continuously since I first invested and I'm very grateful for all the shared research and humour.
Last night and this morning have been the quietest I have seen, is this the calm before the storm?
One thing that I have wondered is how the lth on here came to invest. It was easy for me, plenty of noise and a tip in July, research and initial investment. I'm really interested in why people invested a year or more ago.
I guess I'm trying to get an idea how to find the next big thing earlier in the process.
