Can anyone enlighten me as to why the spread varies? I understand it is used as a tool of some sort, but twice this morning the spread has been reported as zero and it has been very small all morning. I cannot work out how it ever a good idea for the market makers and particularly with low volumes.
Good morning Ian
Thanks for the birthday wishes and thanks for taking the trouble to read every post to record this stuff.
I know there have been a lot of false dawns, but this feels to me like the final straight. Fingers crossed.
Keep well.
Good luck to everyone.
The complexities of even deciding which is the best offer could be huge. There could be several buyers offering more than one deal, differing pricing and payment structures, different groups of buyers and different offers for separate parts etc.
Trying to compare these and possibly members of the board having different preferences could be causing the delay.
Personally, I think we are very close, wouldn't surprise me if it was in the next few days.
Plenty to look forward to!
Trying to keep up with this board when it happens will be impossible when it happens. Should be fun.

If you think the MMs pricing is simply supply and demand I think you are mistaken. Far more complex in my opinion and particularly on AIM. The share price is used as a tool to manipulate sentiment and create a market.
I'm ready for the Kermit finger.
I actually think Asleep makes some valid points, maybe the presentation wasn't great.
There are NDAs in place quite appropriately in order to negotiate with multiple parties in an orderly way. However, their purpose is not to conceal price sensitive information from shareholders and indeed I think that this is the effect if not the intention of the way information has been managed. For example, if the NDAs had not been in place we would no doubt have more detail about resources in the WK RNS.
Had the NDAs not been in place we would not have needed any clarification about AC's dealings either. It's clear from the information given that the shares were transferred to Veles, it isn't clear what information Alexei has had access to throughout the process that may not be common knowledge. It also isn't clear that Veles took them to hold in their 'sticky hands'. They could just have acted as an agent for someone else and indeed Alexei may still be the beneficial owner of the shares and has moved them for a different reason, maybe tax.
I think some of the boys with balaclavas and baseball bats on here should be more open to considering negative views on things and at least think about what is being said before attacking like a pack of baying hounds. It is not a good investment strategy to only look at the positive and ignore the negative.
Finally, can someone explain why they think the length of time the deal has taken is an indication of the size of the deal. It may just be an indication of the complexity or difficulty of negotiating a satisfactory deal.
I know this post will be the last that some people read from me. I wish them good luck anyway.
If someone I trusted told me that I could double my money in less than six months by buying XYZ, i would take a very close look. If my research indicated that I had a 90% chance of that happening, some chance of having to wait much longer for a return and a small chance of losing some of my money, I would almost certainly invest.
Everyday we have discussions and arguments about the price we will achieve here analysing every word and every interpretation of every word, some of it very heated.
Very little of what is being said adds to the collective knowledge and none of what is said will change the outcome in terms of time or price.
I'm quite comfortable to sit back and let this happen. I don't feel the need to 'defend' my investment against people who think we will sell for 50p or to undermine people that think we will sell for £2, £5 or £35.
My advice, try and take a step back. In these times, 100% is a great return and of course, more is better!
For several days now the board has been filled with repetitive posts about Monty, 1000s of them. I get it, some people are upset. However, much of what has been posted is pure speculation.
He sold out, he was hit by stop losses, he sold out part of his holding, he was Rowka, he's trying to buy back in at a low price blah, blah blah.
Forget it, he's a poster on a bulletin board what he has or hasn't done doesn't matter. If you don't want to read his posts, filter him, but whatever your view please stop with the childish repetitive posts.
Anything positive is getting buried in deep brown stuff.
Morning JT.
Thanks for the continued updates, very much appreciated.
On the reports, there is a figure for depth of Bid/Ask. I've googled it and there are definitions, but I'm still not much wiser as to its relevance. Can you throw any light on it for me please?
