I thought about this the other day.

I could be way off, but if this was going bust in the way that it has been (mismanaged contracts, fine over bonuses, debtor who's not paying up), with institutions and especially the NHS invested, wouldn't this cause a gargantuan excrement storm? With NHS being consistently challenged on funding, service constraints in the last 2 years etc. etc. etc., to be hit with this. Surely even someone like Drayson, who, I'm sure, attended the same Eyes Wide Shut parties as those in office right now, surely even he doesn't just get to walk away from this. Politicians never miss an opportunity to throw one of their own under the bus.

Too bad same cannot be said about a certain ex-CEO.

Ukrainians explaining how some of the equipment being used by Russians now was basically sold to them by other European countries (France in this instance). Wouldn't hold my breath for those sanctions on the French.

All it means (at least to me) is that Gatemore believe in the long-term value of the business (public or private) enough to increase their stake.

Linkop, was responding to someone else's post, but thanks, and good luck to all still here. I'm still invested, will accept any outcome, but trying to stay rational - I still believe complete bankruptcy and shareholder wipeout is unlikely.

I won't feel bad either way, as I will know there is a degenerate gambler even worse than me who bought 5M shares last week (and has potential to lose it all) haha.

Seems less likely to me that it's going under. Still doesn't preclude it from going private. So guess the decision is - don't invest what you're hoping to be able to cash out in the short term. Longer term the company will be fine.

There are so many shares where success is 'guaranteed' (oil/metal exploration), and then they fail horribly.

I hope for once we can get a share where it's the other way around - seems doom and gloom, but works out okay.

You don't know this to be the case. That's not a negative reflection on you, but this is not a certainty.

And the 16-2 was not meant to do that? It's been drilled. It was successful. It's not producing yet, but it was successful. It did nothing for the share price.
