Yes, sorry I wasn't clearer there. My point was that 'shorties panicking' would be them buying shares, creating upward pressure. Not the other way around. And if they did sell the shares on the market after borrowing them, they would have to buy back shares anyway, so hardly something that should net-net move the needle, as pitiful and as illiquid as AIM is. Also, in the UK, shorting is less common and CFDs are a much more common type of trade for this approach. It is also illegal under Market Abuse Regulations in the UK to manipulate the stock in the way you suggest.

That's not how shorting works. You borrow shares from a broker at a certain price, with the expectation it will go down. As part of the short contract you have to buy back the shares. If the trade goes your way you buy them back at a cheaper price and pocket the difference. If the share price goes up, you still have to buy back the shares, but at a loss to yourself.

Yup, there's sometimes this righteous indignation with people saying you're not a 'true investor', you're a trader etc. In the end, people here invested to make money, not because they have their wedding vows to Colin Harrington in their pocket and waiting for the right moment to propose and live together forever after.

The BoD have to be asking themselves. All the money and effort spent all these years nobody is getting back, was it worth it, only to end up with the same share price as 4 years ago? And that's not even including money lost to inflation or forgone opportunities to invest elsewhere.

If it wasn't really worth it, let's close out this chapter of all of our lives and move on. If it was worth it, let's see some specifics on reasons why. As per their presentation, hopefully that's to come soon.

Yeah, given how the market reacted to previous RNS, with this, find it strange they don't even make any connection with Paradox (i.e. 'we secured this investment because that frees up capital to pursue Paradox ourselves', or 'we are in discussions seeking similar separate investment for Paradox').

And separately, is it really difficult to mention they have commissioned a CPR and they are expecting it in X weeks? Or mention anything at all about further direction there? Why does Paradox feel like a child that's done something very shameful and now the whole family doesn't talk about it.

RPG, exactly. At a higher level, successes are not rewarded, and failures and steps back are punished into oblivion. That's not the right incentive structure for emerging companies going for it. Key cultural difference with US. Being optimistic is not punished.

The only thing that I can think of that had people sell is the lack of resource estimates, which were said to follow later. Guess we'll see.

Hopefully the BoD are as tired of AIM as I am. It's totally uninvestable for long-term holding. The only way you can get a rise is either total randomness and crowd rush, or a recommended cash offer.

On potentially raising funds, let's remember that they got some backing from institutional investors after going private, thanks to Alex Snow, so they do have some decent runway still, and doubt these investors are in for a 5-10% return.

I remember writing something like 'see you all in 2025' when it de-listed, looks like could be right. I think if we all survive to the end of this year, US elections could drive market sentiment quite a lot, and it will be more favourable to activity again.

Hope so too, otherwise, it's a bit ugly. As I understand, the concert party are protected from any dilution as they can issue equity to themselves however much they want (maybe I'm wrong?). What gives me a bit of hope is wondering if the NHS Trusts and other such similar holders are equally protected in this way - were they given some special assurances by Snow and others, that they are protected from dilution?

Best case scenario - consolidation is a sign of them getting their affairs in order and opening up shop to public trading again.

What's the consolidation factor? My position is on freetrade, so had no correspondence.

And how do you read that action? It did get a bit clowny with the number of shares they had, so consolidating to make more attractive to institutional investors?
