From a geological perspective, the Juno results are encouraging because they confirm the presence of a large, mineralised hydrothermal system rather than a false geophysical anomaly. Both holes intersected the expected stratigraphy, alteration and sulphide mineralisation, and returned a consistent multi-element signature. The observed zoning — with gold and copper sulphides in the deeper basement and silver-zinc anomalism higher in the sequence — is entirely consistent with an intrusion-related gold system where the initial drilling has intersected the outer or distal parts of the system.
Importantly, this style of mineralisation is typically developed over kilometre-scale footprints, with economic grades concentrated in discrete centres rather than evenly distributed. The fact that mineralisation is present across two widely spaced holes supports the scale of the system and provides valuable vectors for refining targeting. On that basis, the identification of new priority targets offset from the initial holes is a logical and positive outcome. In short, the drilling has confirmed the model, reduced geological risk, and set up the next phase of exploration with significantly improved confidence.
