Or if you have the patience you can wait 9 years till the oil spill payments stop and there is an extra $1 billion plus to share out to shareholders.

None of these rely on the BOD doing something stunning .

The sp May fall further,but these things will happen.

Or else you can watch the buybacks slowly at about 10% a year increase your % holding in the company until about 9 or 10 years from now we will,be the only ones left and our div will be measured in $ billions.

What value the sp then.

The market may ignore, but simple maths cannot be ignored

Thanks to our appalling sp yield is now 5.85%.

If next year 2025 we get another 10% rise and sp stayed the same yield would be 6.4%.

Again in 2026 another 10% rise at same sp would give a yield of 7%.

At some time yield must start to support sp.

And even if oil price drops as some expect,the board have said div come first,so buybacks would reduce to support div payout.

I cannot see market giving out a 7% return so sp must eventually rise.

If I’m buying at these prices,can’t object to BP doing the same.

Even if it only happens due to the yield getting higher due to the 10% div rise every year
