Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
This section of the article by proactive is reminding me of what Anita Frew said back in 30th May 2022. A possible sell of the power division as an option for the new CEO.
With his background in the energy sector, Erginbilgic may choose to focus on growth in the company’s marginal power systems business, which posted a record second quarter but accounts for about a quarter of annual revenue, or look to sell off the asset.

I have been watching the share price of US and UK airlines as well as Boeing and Airbus on the H1 results day, they have all been falling from 4 to 11 percent on the day of announcement and they have all recovered within a few days and RR. is no exception to the rules. Despite all the bad news, RR.’s balance sheet on the liquidity position remains strong with £7.3bn of liquidity including £2.8bn in cash at the period end which indicates that they do not need any RI, or any asset disposal for now.

Please read this section of the article from the Guardian to find out the role that the government plays in the appointment.
Rolls-Royce is understood to have engaged with senior civil servants in the Cabinet Office before the appointment and is seeking clearances from the Ministry of Defence. The government holds a “golden share” in Rolls-Royce that would allow it effectively to veto any appointment because of the company’s role building nuclear submarine reactors. Under those rules, at least one of Rolls-Royce’s chair or chief executive has to be a Briton – and in this case the chair is the Glaswegian Anita Frew.

@ Boulevardier
You are absolutely right. This guy is appointed to follow the decision made by the government and RR’s management and he has a good experience to do this kind of work. The power section of RR, will probably be the first break up according to Anita Frew statement on Financial times on the 30th May 2022. Please read this article if you have time for it.
In my opinion, after the consultation with the government, RR. management have appointed this Turkish guy to act as a caretaker as RR. is going through a major structural change once the new CEO comes on board and this was clearly stated by Anita Frew on 30th May 2022 in FT as per attached link. Please read this article and find out more about the reality.

On the subject of politics, Boris Johnson, Dominic Raab and Grant shapps are all Jewish and the latest two have supported Sunak to be the next PM. They have lots of influence on the party and normally get what they are after. However, Sunak may not be an ideal candidate as far as RR. is concerned.
Rolls-Royce and BAE to see increased defence spending whoever wins Tory election
Shares in BAE Systems PLC (LSE:BA.) eased 1.5% to 797.2p and Rolls-Royce PLC by 2.4% to 86.4p, despite the Citi comments.

In order to find out the effect of US airlines on UK airlines, RR. share price and IAG share price were both down by more than 2% at some stage up to 2:30 PM today and then as soon the US airlines jumped by 5% then RR. SP moved up and finished 2% up and IAG finished 5% up. This is for everyone to check and find out at what happened today.

Will stop posting nonsense comments to the board?
Are you an investor or a time waster?
Go back to your kindergarten where you belong and leave this site for the real investor to exchange ideas and discuss about the general aspects of RR.
In my view, BOJO had a BREIXT mission to accomplish and it is about time for him to go as far the tory party is concerned. They need someone with a softer approach towards Europe as the trade deal needs to be improved with European market with the population of 500 million people, different policy towards Russian conflict to bring the war to end and to concentrate on the UK economy as far as inflation and cost of living is concerned.
I agree with you that the travel sector in US is in good shape and the Q2 results are out as follows:
Delta Airlines : 13 July 2022
United Airlines : 18 July 2022
American Airlines : 20 July 2022
Boeing : 27 July 2022

There is no boubt that half year result will be excellent and this was even reconfirmed by the tone of Anita Frew in the Financial Times last month as per attached link. I am hoping the net income to beat the analyst forecast in the range of £200m to £300m for the first half of the year with the projection of £600m to £800m for the whole year. Generally, the plane and engine makers are exteremly busy these days and Boieng delivered 35 planes last months, of course not all RR. engines. For RR., one has to consider other side of business like power and defence doing very well too.

RR. Share price dropped nearly by 12% within this week. There was no fundamental change in the structure and no bad news from the company. So, why did this happen?
1- The completion of ITP contract due on 30th June is delayed. Comment: No, there is no evidence to suggest that ITP is delayed.
2- The union rejected the payment offer by RR.s management. Comment: Yes, of course this has a big effect on the share price as it may lead to the strike which can cause a loss of income to the company. However, this is not the main cause for the drop as the talks are still going on.
3- Analyst consensus: Comment: No, this is happening all the time and the share price is not reacting to these issues as such. Bank of America lowered its target to 77P from 80P this week.
4- There is a fear of global recession. Comment: Yes, it has had some effects on the general market especially airline industry as the prices are generally lower than three months ago.
5- The political uncertainty and the result of by-election defeats. Comment: Yes, I think this is the main cause for the price fall as the government is major client of the RR. for the power, defence, SMR, and so on. The stable and strong leadership of the government will make the present and future workloads of the RR. guaranteed.
Looking forward to your constructive viewpoints with great interest.
Oil price will come down below S100 and stabalise at that level in the next couple of months as Venezuela is already supplying oil to the Italians and Spanish refineries with green light from USA. Chinese and Indians are buying Russian oil at a 20% discount in large volumes. Joe Biden will visit Suadi Arabia in the next 3 weeks in order to sign up a security pact and ask the saudi to increase the oil production by 2 million barrel per day in return. The recent share fall is mainly due to recession fears on the global economy and the weakness will continue until October time.
