Nice entry point this morning. We are nearly back to 2020 lows. This for me is now a take over opportunity. Put it in the drawer of potential take overs and leave it quietly to appreciate

picking up stock at 5.77p is an opportunity that I cannot resist.

On a global basis - all commodities are getting battered in anticipation of a recession. I think we get a technical recession but with employment and the consumer holding up combined with potentially China coming back from COVID lockdowns the potential for a V shaped rebound in the sector are rising.

Add the strong dollar and the cheap overseas assets that the US will be eyeing and the opportunities across UK small and midcap commodities are rising

The opportunity is there to be taken

Dont normally see many A trades on the Buy side these days.

Shorts closing - eating up the book

Hopefully enough sticky hands not to give them back the stock cheap

I have no interest in a buyout until at least 2025. As for price - how long is apiece of string, suffice to say multiples of the current price

I took the opportunity to add sub 10pagain this morning. All miners have been hammered through May/June as the Dollar rallied significantly (up10. %)

Vaneck outflows no doubt led to their algorithmic rebalance. No human emotion in that decision, nor will their be when it re-buys in the future.

As for JPM - their job is done. They manipulated the price over the past 6 months to try and favour Newcrest - bedfellows

I see their short coming out of the market over the coming weeks and the 5% finally being dealt with

Was going to buy at the open but I had a feeling skittish trades would take the few percent and run.

Across most miners we are getting daily cuts. Good news and momentum change will help sort this out, plus China announcing more QE won’t hurt

In an era of green washing where institutional funds are being fined for “dressing up” their holdings as ESG fits, BMN are looking a very strong fit to be considered a viable holding.

You can be guaranteed that they will have been squaring their position as quickly as they can and using every trick in the book including bulletin board suppression to get stock.

I added below .80 for the squeeze trade. So far I see nothing to suggest they are not offside - Plenty of round number large volume buys going through Thursday/Friday and this morning

If Atlas has been caught offside, they will be very nervous of this rise and at some point will have to take the decision to ramp up its chase of the stock to square their position.

This may rise extremely fast

Watching the trades going through steadily now in round number and size.

Only so long the market makers will be able to keep a lid on this.

Atlas have a long way to go

The question now is - Did they forward sell more than they should have into the sharp rise knowing their conversion notice would crash the price and they could buy back significantly cheaper - a quick buck?

Vast knowing what they have done have raised and paid the loan off and now Atlas are in it up to their necks. Atlas could be way offside - particularly if they have forward sold a few conversion loads

The fact that TW and shareprohets have weighed in dumping on Vast gives me more confidence that a short squeeze is on the cards. I mean who else would you call when you have messed up and need a cap on a price to get out of Jail

So in negative analysis we get back to the placing price assuming Atlas are angels (they act in good faith and haven't been manipulating the price, nor have they forward sold) -so that's 25% down from here

On optimistic analysis the placing has been announced and a potential floor is in. Add to that the potential that Atlas are caught offside and need to buy back stock- I seen this happen with multiple AIM stocks over the years - Bulletin boards will be flat out with the Atlas crew suppressing the sentiment in a bid to grab what they can. Upside potential 4p if Atlas are shown to be offside

So 15-20% downside before buying in or buy now with potential 3-400% upside in a very short space of time

That is the conundrum

No other reason to maintain they are demanding conversion

We LTH can all confer ourselves with the title of "Patient"

Whilst it is frustrating to see the blatant manipulation of the share price, I am taking full advantage of it - Why should Newcrest be the only beneficiary of the depressed price.

One of the these days the foot will come off the head and the price will spike. The catalyst could simply be the 5% price being agreed. Like most LTH we have been here for years and we are watching the transition from explorer to producer. If it takes another few year so be it.

The lower they take it the greater percentage of my portfolio this will become. 30% plus at this stage

I wonder how many cancelled trades we get today.

Shaking the tree when some investors are flagging is just hateful.

I will happily add at these levels

Added another tranche to hopefully catch the wave of short closing. Could jump back to 7.50 by the end of next week. Sentiment is very bearish and could see some short term relief.

If Blackrock are shorting, the question I would have is who are they working in tandem with to build a takeover case. Betiville maybe has an ear close to the ground on that one. Same can be said for ITM.

Consolidation in the sector will lift all

With Lombard continuing to build a stake I am starting to believe that an offer for the company wont be to far away. A combination of LOG and Lombard and the deal will be done.

The weakness over the past month has played into their hands. Unfortunately it looks like the chances of a price above 50p will be limited. I had a big enough holding here but with the potential rising of a takeout, I added another tranche this morning at 27p

IOG becoming an attractive proposition for the bigger oil plays. We have now reached a point where investors have had enough special distributions/dividends - Profits may be subject to windfall tax, therefore de-risked acquisitions will be on the cards

Hopefully we get north of 40p before confirmation of any bids
