It took a while but it looks like the tide has finally turned and we are slowly moving back up. It will take a while for some to accept this so we will have sellers bailing at break evens all the way up.

Plode in case you don't know -higher rates are detrimental to gold as alternatives becomes more attractive. Rates coming down with inflation embedded and growth faltering is the perfect environment for a gold rally. With the amount of borrowing in the US it is only a matter of time before the Dollar has a re-rate lower. This will drive gold towards $2000.

Plenty of round number trades in a decent size. Institutions loading up in this one (or a potential bidder accumulating)

Either way its been a nice rebound from the recent lows.

Lads a combination of the “rumours in the city” combined with the TW waffle is becoming a blight on the board.

Extrapolation of Myles work to create the “rumour” is playing into the hands of the TW army - its giving them the ability to cry ramp.

Let’s just wait for the news. The range is tight enough and it’s only day traders playing their own games that have this bouncing between the levels.

Market Makers took it down to pick up some stock and this was picked up immediately. Not much stock around which should help the rebound back to £10.

What a tough share to build a position in. It took the last few days to get £20K worth of stock.

Look at all the Russia/Ukraine plays that are still listed in London. FXPO, POLY etc. Since the Ukranian counter offensive and the rumors around the lack of stability of Putin's regime have escalated, the stocks have all found a bid.

Rather than look for a company specific reason for the rise in the form of an RNS - look at the macro picture of the region and decipher if the ground swell of opinion is shifting away from war and back to potential stability.

If so then this climbs back towards 12p ahead of company specific updates

all the news is there in black and white. Fully funded and an expanding resource.

Newcrest and Greatland now have a mutually beneficial project, one that Newcrest badly need.

Short term market girations are for traders and accumulators.

Traders will flip for their 15% and accumulators will add. MArket makers know this and they will have been tasked to accumulate on behalf of clients (exiting shorts maybe) and as such this wont have the spike higher that some hope for. It will be the proverbial 2 steps forward and one step back.

Slow grind higher will see us back in double digits soon enough and as whereas int he past our regular updates were met by falling SP, they now they will be met by a rising price.

BTW Berenberg cutting our price target this morning is an attempt to slow the rise as someone is offside

There undoubtedly is a lot going on in the background that we do not know about. This is a big game of chess that Newcrest thought they had won by turning down the 5%.

Shaun Day and his team have stepped up and taken this to the next level and hopefully Newcrest now view it as a mutual benefit relationship.

My only hope is that this is not the opening salvo for a potential takeover at a level around 25p. We have been here long enough and have average down at every opportunity. Whilst 25p would be a great uplift from here - it leaves so much on the table in the form of future dividend cash flow.

I know some complained at the dilution and the fact that as shareholders we were not offered an opportunity to participate. Shaun explained this satisfactorily. In fact the price stayed below 8p for long enough for the rest of us who wanted to - to fill our boots

Good luck to the traders who will undoubtedly bounce in and out - a profit is a profit. However with the heavy lifting done as such and the shorts already seeming to be closing - the future is exciting no matter which road the company takes

Whilst an admirable stance please show a degree of respect for your shareholders and think through the consequences of your ambiguity.

With clarity from Truss on the future of the North Sea and her desire to support the sector rather than punish it, it is only a matter of time before Kist and others come back to the table with bids

Lets hope they are more reflective of the asset on hand

Its no surprise that the SP is having sizeable moves with so little trading. In the absence of news the market makers are happy to move it around on every medium trade. They are getting a few quid here and there for their efforts.

An injection of volume would be very welcome however until the red dot appears or a leak occurs then the price will fluctuate around the cash at hand value. I added another batch today taking profit from elsewhere. At these levels assuming we can operate as viable company post COVID pandemic (COVID will come back into the headlines once schools go back and the spreading in tandem with the flu starts)then the chances of at least doubling from here on a positive RNS should be a good punt.

The situation in Europe is getting worse. OPEC talking about a cut in supply and accusing the paper market of being manipulated. The direction of travel for oil & gas is higher.

In my mind this is a hedge against the wider market now as growth starts to roll over again.

Took 5k worth as well as a shot to nothing.

The trading update was overly cautious to the point I am thinking this is a potential set up for the auld mates rates prior to confirmation of a contract

Nice consolidation around 13p ahead of step up later in the day.

Same entity trying to surprise the price movement with round number sells everyday only to be reversed/cancelled later in the day.

Market makers antics to try and accumulate shares from loose hands.

Looking forward to breakout to 15p soon enough

Will come soon enough. With sterling weakening against the pound the attractiveness of UK targets is ever increasing

Accumulate at these levels and put away in the bottom drawer.
