It's bizarre that personal accounting of ones finances is not taught in schools. This should have been put on the curriculum decades ago when credit started to become easier to access. But then I suppose it's average Joe's 'easy-to-get-hold-of' personal debt that makes the world go round, and that will never change.

Indeed Mousey. My point was that it casts a massive doubt on a NO decision by the Court as that could be deemed 'double standards' and allow for an appeal to be lodged by Amigo, instead of prematurely calling in Administrators.

Lets face it pretty much all the traditional banks got away with skimming 10's of billions out of Joe Public in the PPI scandal over a period spanning tens of years. But when they were found out they were ordered by the Courts to satisfy the claims submitted over several years and still continued to happily trade on......So why would a judge say 'NO' to sanctioning the Amigo Scheme when the likely alternative Administration for Amigo and nothing for the creditors, especially as the claims are only a tiny fraction of the £38+ billion the banks repaid?

The Judge says YES + Amigo start relending + Happy creditors + Happy new lenders = happy shareholders!!

Yeah, it kinda makes you wonder what someone who outwardly hates something so much has to gain by pulling the wool over less informed peoples eyes? When I had a look in there a few weeks back I couldn't see any obvious advertising blocks, no no-win-no-fee offers or any subscription fees!

They'd be fools if they turned away free money by voting NO and got bu66er all because of the alternative of possibility of going into administration, utter fools. I believe the 700000 former customers will carry the YES vote. Just sayin'.

I stopped reading DC because the woman's ridiculous advice/comments wound me up!!

FCA Update: March 2021
We understand that Amigo Loans will be going to court on 30 March to seek its approval to ask creditors (which includes consumers with complaints about it) to approve its proposed scheme of arrangement.

Here is the update dated 25 March 2021
"Amigo has said that it isn’t in a position to pay any further redress outside of this scheme. It has also now confirmed that the alternative to this scheme is insolvency. In light of this information, and the court hearing on 30 March, we will not be progressing complaints against Amigo Loans further at this stage – and we will not be taking on any new complaints. We’ll reconsider our position once the court hearing has taken place, and will keep affected consumers updated."
