They will issue shares when exercised.

Eg. SP goes above 1p. Alwyn might exercise his options at 0.72p and the company gets £180,000 cash in the bank. Right or wrong?

@StarBright. Please explain how an "exercise" of options or "exercise & sell" does not bring in cash to the company.

Regarding performance shares if they achieve them, it would mean a multi-bagging of the SP.
