I think the Exxon link is perhaps more realistic…….they acquire DNO’s stake and perhaps ours too. Like someone suggested I read the GKP board as that is more informative…….truth is I always do. Following is a cut and paste of a comment on their board:

I managed to buy at 21.5p…….saw a number of buys recorded as sells and it looks like we have seen a gap fill from yesterdays open and the proactive interview. My target short term is 26p

All my gaps filled so sit and wait with my remaining holding and buy on weakness

Looking into this again and Exxon and DNO have completed multiple transactions in the past - notably in Kurdistan in 2021 when DNO purchased Exxon’s 34% stake in the Baeshiqa licence. There is history of partnership and more importantly a foundation for working in the region. Digging deeper, the former General Counsel for Exxon is on Genel’s Senior Management Team, Jamie Dykes

Exxon are looking for acquisitions in the region. They are in talks with Iraq about buying Lukoil stake in giant West Qurna 2 oilfield - that story is absolutely everywhere.

Now if they want 75% share of lukoil’s 100k per day production then it would make sense that the DNO and Genel’s 80k per day sites are equally desirable.

I suppose DNO could well be the better fit, however if Exxon want Lukoil’s 75% of West Qurna 2 oilfield they might also look at DNO/ Genel’s Tawke and Peshkabir fields.

Exxon's move into the region would mark a major expansion of the U.S. major's return to Iraq and it also further rubber stamps Iraq as being an investment hotspot once again.

This news only adds further value to our licences. In addition with all the focus on the region the KRG will be keen to demonstrate that it will welcome new investment and look after the existing producers in the region. So this is where we come to drawing a line under outstanding payments owed and moving forward having an acceptable payment framework for oil sent through the Turkey pipeline.

Well there is no concrete info on DNO, although I do agree that the KRG payment situation should be cleared up before year end and then as per my post earlier today we have Oman and the Santa rally coming at the same time. Well done on your buys because it will show a return
