One thing that is puzzling about shale is that you have some big oil companies like the majors buying in. If the breakeven is so high why would they do that. Doesn't make sense unless the breakeven is lower than we think

Isn't it best to sell out here and buy up stocks that have fallen creation recent weeks. Shareholders here have done well with all the volatility we have seen with oil. If DNO pull out surely this will fall to around £1? I bet DNO regret the offer now, they could have gone for a lower price. Interesting to see what happens here

Well done on getting your buy price. No reason to sell for tax purposes if bought in an ISA. Current market sentiment is poor and looks like this will go down further. However, if XON are going to develop Hammerhead and go into production early, then happy to hold and top up if things gets ridiculous.

Unless PMO buy those Chevron assets. They won't buy them with debt but may dilute and raise funds at around 45p - 50p ranges to suit the institutions - mates rates

Hi stealmywifie - I believe the Ghana wells increase is gross, but not net to TLW. TLW has partners there that would share the increase in production. However, you are right that production guidance for next financials should be way higher and then there is also Uganda and Kenya coming on line. Further down the road there is Guyana where TLW hold 60% in one of the hottest oil plays in the world. Favourable fiscals as well with the Guyana authorities. Exxon have just found 5billion barrels not that far away

Very true schlemiel - unless something drastic changes in coming months - true value for ECO won’t happen until they hit oil or someone starts a bidding war

schlemiel - I know there are still risks for ECO, but drilling in Guyana is the kind of "wildcat" drilling I like i.e. in a proven fairway right next door to a multi billion barrel finds.The Exxon finds open up a new oil fairplay and they are unlikely to be just in Exxon acreage

the last time they cut, opec compliance was way above 100%, I would expect it will be similar this time around, so although they said they would cut by 1.2m, expect it to be higher

$60 is good for most except Shale, anyway you got to give time for all those oil shorts to close
