Looks like BP won’t be farming into our Namibia acreage as they said they won’t be exploring in any new countries. It’s part of their new stupid strategy.
Anyway, does this mean we are free to finally offer it to someone else. I always thought that BP had the first option

40% less production means less revenue over the next 10 years
Margins will be lower, if that’s the case how will they sustain the dividend
Better to buy the shares in about 10 years when they have reorganised the whole business or when looney has left

Why has share price jumped:
- oil has broken $46
- oil likely to go higher in coming months
- market is forward looking
- every week more and more shale bankruptcy
- dividend yield is still attractive
- might be attracting some green investors
- total dividend cut was partly priced in before last RNS

Think this tortoise will just have a Saturn V rocket up its ass on acquisition or takeover day. If it happens. Looking at atleast testing historical highs of 140p on results day if no acquisition

Cairn strategy has always been find the oil, appraise it and then sell it off. Can’t see them buying further assets in the North Sea. They are probably going to carry on exploring in this low cost exploration era.
By the way, can’t see how they would afford SQZ for that loose change after paying the special dividend

is he deramping the whole sector, doesn't think oil will be above $50 in the next two years. Is he being realistic or under promising or trying to justify the dividend cut. Q3 might be worse as i don't think the trading arm will show as good a performance

If the dividend isn’t cut, yes you’re right - it will be a great buy, but I can wait for news - either way I will be in at a good level - it’s a win win
