You can say that again ChuffChuff! I've only recently realised that this share has now made me more money than I have earnt over my entire working life of some 28 years! And this is only the start!

Going all that way to get a car serviced is one of the things that would probably make me think twice about getting an Aston now Tom (well one day! ;-) ) not to mention the £2,000 minor interim service cost I was quoted for the Vantage the last time I enquired!

So I take it that you don't want to see the Persian people finally liberated from decades of oppression by that pyschotic leader then wiltshireman (nor 99% of the world's terrorism evapourate as an added side benefit?!)

(I still have a few Iranian friends from my college days and just be thankful you haven't had to live their yourself!)

However, I only bought in here to attempt to recoup my substantial losses on SAR and at 54p a share I would do that (so anything above is a bonus!)

Agreed, as I spent the whole of the last really good summer we had (back in 2022) stuck inside calculating figures, compiling copious amounts of financial evidence and then filling out and submitting some 27 different HMRC Forms!!!!

(Took me almost 6 months from start to finish but saved my family £1,000s in fees!)

Don't forget about 'gifts from surplus income' as these are unlimited and out of the 'IHT Net' immediately and with no 'if you die within 7 years' period applicable (or they were when my dad was still alive).

The test is that the amount given away should not affect 'your normal standard of living'.

(Well worth speaking to a Financial Adviser concerning this, as my own IFA at the time said that most people were unaware of this way of legally reducing an estate's IHT liabilty)

My dad used to give my brother and myself £600 a month each from his 'unused surplus income' which we put into a joint savings account in both of our names and which remained untouched until his death (just in case he should ever have needed it, which he didn't)

It could also be 'back dated' for 2 years (from memory) so an additional £28.8k lump sum was also deposited at inception (and all outside of the 'IHT net' from day one!)

I know it was correct (at the time) as these full amounts that were 'gifted out of surplus income' were fully declared to HMRC during the probate application and no IHT was charged on what was close to a 6 figure sum by the time my dad passed.

I'm not a qualified Financial Adviser but I my opinion it would be worth speaking to one concerning 'Gifts from Surplus Income' as it certainly proved to be worthwhile for my brother and myself!

Currently happy to take 120,000 of my shares at above the published sell price.

Someone still wants them it would seem!?

Same here Resipsa! I insisted that my Financial Adviser put more of my pension fund into it 5 years ago now and it is one of my best performers (up 158% since Dec 2020!)

i 'gave up' work fast approaching 10 years ago now (aged 51) when i was made redundant at around the same that my dad had his stroke and i never went back!

do i miss it? no! (especially all of the corporate political bu11****!)

'no man knoweth the hour' and my advice to you (fwiw!) would be if you don't have to work then don't! live life, use your time maybe to make your wife's life easier when she's not at work perhaps!

take up a new hobbie and start your own small business/side hustle (out of acorns, mighty oak trees grow...)

for some people their work defines them, don't let it!

it's been a struggle at times financially over the last 10 years but would i change it? hell no!!
