'Biys' and 'sells' on this Board are simply guesses based on whether the price is nearer the bid or the offer. it's largely meaningless. In reality, every trade has to have a buyer and seller by definition anyway you numpty. The thing that moves to equalise the two is the price, so that's what you should focus on.

Oh dear - still on that MTB multiple monikers tripe. 2 things: How come these other identities don’t post on the other 25 stocks I post on? Multiple ids are against LSE rules and they can see the IP addresses, so report me for it and see where that get’s you. Yep - just added few hundred quid at 4.7p. Who knows what'll happen, but the risk/reward feels about right to me here. Made a small profit last time I traded in and out, so let's see how it goes this time.

Good questions Cassius, but for a punt to work, you just need the open issue to be filled I'll be long gone before we know whether revenue targets have been met! Price just fell below 5p.....

Ha ha - WO, chair of the brain trust on this Board, who believe comparing stock prices is sensible, is now telling us that a share issue, which if not successful leads to insolvency, is common place and was 'bl***y bvious. Funnily enough, he never mentioned this before, and a 60% fall in the share price tells you that no-one else did either. Come on WO/GCC, keep posting, you're keeping me very entertained!!

Exactly Scotty. Why copy and paste from a January RNS when we have new news from an April RNS which has dramatically changed what the market understands about the Company's position.. What an astonishing moron GCC is. Stock now touching 5p. Worth a punt???? I'm so tempted..;-)

Troajan - er, no, he's not. Perhaps you should go to the Board in question and enlighten yourself. For a man with 43k posts, I would have expected better.

If you want to know what GumT DOES invest in , you only need to look where he posts. Unfortunately, he only seems to post on 2 stocks other than IG (which he says he doesn't hold), so it doesn't look like he has a particularly large or diversified portfolio..........Weirdly, he posts on IG far more than any other stock even though he doesn't hold it.......

Honestly don't know where to start with that post. Suffice to say that as an investor for 30 years, I disagree with about 90% of GumT's post below: - Beating the market is possible, and involves generating a return better than the market return - that is simple fact - Traders do not necessarily beat investors - Actually quite the opposite as they have to fight the headwind of transaction costs. Only genuinely skillful professional traders actually win in my experience. Perhaps you are confusing traders with market makers? - Current market price is NOT based on 'deep analysis'. After all, you say you're an investor and I've not seen anything like that from you. It's based on consensus which may or may not be driven by fundamental value and/or pure sentiment (more the latter in my view) - Hitting the right entry and exit points for a stock is exactly what investing is about, and not some residual factor which is down to luck. Finally, thank god you're not actually offering advice. Newbies on here might actually be in danger of taking you seriously.

To be fair, AVN had always assured the market that the debt restructuring meant they were sorted for a number of years, and hence plenty of time to let Hylas 4 revenues come roiling in - shareholders had a right to take them at their word. Then suddenly, there's a new issue, and the Company says insolvency if it doesn't proceed. That is (another!!) massive kick in the guts for long suffering shareholders. That said, if it goes through, you could well get a 100% return in a day. Will I buy tomorrow? Not sure - I'll decide in the morning!! If it goes sub 5p I will be very sorely tempted!! GLA

Banks are not the issue - the debt is all in the hands of HFs and asset managers. The question is whether the shareholders (of which the same asset managers are the largest) are prepared to throw more in. I still think it's more likely they do (as said below), although they could opt to put it into insolvency now whilst they have all their money in debt rather than half switched into equity. There was something about that RNS which felt a bit like blackmail - give us the money, or else!!

...picking up a few shares if you like a punt. If the extra issue gets done (and I'd say there's a 65% chance it does), stock should bounce back to 10p or so. However, no-one should be under any illusions that there is still a reasonable chance I doesn't, in which case zero pence would be my best forecast of value. So probability weighted price of 6.5p. Below 6p, I could be tempted, but not above. Each to his own of course.

GumT- you have failed to differentiate between the price you can trade at (the market price) and the fundamentally 'correct' price. They're generally different, and that's why we can make (or in your case, I'm guessing,lose) money. the market is most certainly NOT right most of the time. And just for the record, I am also not providing advice, but unlike you I AM a regulated person. And in reference to your playground metaphor, I think you've played the school bully for long enough now?
