I'm feeling increasingly positive on this stock given the performance of the data erasure business and the impending restructuring/sale of the depot business. Very gIad added in the 160s. I think these developments should dispel any short term FCF issues which jollyspeculator tends to bleat on about....

Hi Johnny - no probs mate. The price is the variable which ensures that buyers equals sellers - it's known as the 'clearing mechanism'. So you get some good news, and lots of new buyers come in. The price will then increase until such time as the buyers equals the sellers and trades are done. Cheers :)).

Yes .and someone else's equal and opposite appetite to sell....... Big volumes AND a big price rise - then we know there's real net buying interest in size.

whilst I do like the stock long term, they do have some short term issues, and the stock has now risen back to its pre-profit warning level - could be worth trimming?

Well I tend to be more keen on a stock as the price falls rather than if it rises to a certain level. Just my crazy and-without-foundation buy low-sell high approach. I'm sure I'll get over it!! :) And yes, the stock's too cheap and it's a buy all the way to 75p.

Yes, but a buy for a 1mn shares is also a sell of 1mn shares. Come on Johnny, we've talked about this before and I recall completely persuading you of my view..........:-))

To be honest, and no offence to the chap in question, but I find it hard to trust in someone whose nickname is one of recent history's best known boom to bust stories. My response if he'd called himself 'Ratners', 'Serco' , 'Marconi[', or 'Poly peck' (for those old enough to remember) would be similar......... Let's hope there isn't someone call Paragon Diamonds in a few years time trying the same thing.....;)

It's not strange Chris, because we've been close to something major for about a year now, and every development we do get, just seems to lead to waiting for another major development. You can't blame the market for getting nervous about this - frankly it makes sense. On the dilution point, there has to be some, and we shouldn't be too worried about that. The alternative is more debt financing which simply makes the Company more risky. The key is to get the right balance between debt and equity (dilution) financing, so let's hope PM's got that sorted.

..or perhaps he'll have found a 3rd mine to buy, and we'll just need to wait a 'few more weeks' whilst he gets further approval and funding.........;-)

Chris, I did say that he's escaped criticism so far n=because of the deals he's done one of which is Mothae. However, I would add that he has NOT delivered the project including the final financing, and nor has he delivered Lemphane. No question about the deals, and the messaging, but delivery is the question I'm raising here, and for me, the jury is still out, ( and I'm wondering if they've all absconded from the hotel the Court put them up in.......:) )

I think PM has managed to survive criticism over the last year despite delays (to almost every time frame he's set...) due to the deals he's done, and the almost unbounded (imprudent perhaps...) optimism for his Company. However as days and weeks go by, and no announcement of the new financing deal (that we didn't think he needed anyway) is forthcoming, I think his skills in managing and delivering these projects might come under some scrutiny. Realise that this will probably be met by the normal accusations of de-ramping (which isn't my intention), but I think the concern is justified. After all, if this is jam tomorrow stock, the lid's still on!

Indeed. I think the acquisition of Cameron by Schlumberger in the sector also added weight to the buying. Schl.'s move may well signal the bottom of the oil market....

And they were pretty good BD, leading to a nice rise today. Unlikely to be the smoothest ride ever, but stock looks to gives very good upside potential. Overall, good risk reward trade-off from here.

Seems like Midas has some sway here then! Up more than 10%. Seems like only a few weeks ago I was buying this in the 60s. Oh wait a minute, it was! hurrah!!

Looks like demand is holding up well, and with new capacity coming in US and China over the next few years. Not the cheapest midcap in the world, but certainly high quality and reasonably predictable growth.

...but on very low volumes - classic summer markets. expect better volumes (and hopefully higher price) starting September. blackford, your first name isn't Ian is it....?
