Reasons to believe20 Jul 2024 14:06
Here is the base case that I totally believe will pave the way for all you patient (and even recent) holders to truly believe in the possibility of making life changing gains.
As any good broker would say, I must make clear that we own 3 million shares and therefore have a huge vested interest; and that anyone should always DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH and make your own informed decisions.
So how do I believe this will play out over the next few months?
One of two scenarios will happen, but either has the capacity to maximise the monetisation of Solgold.
Neither of those scenarios involves taking Cascabel to production, whether on their own or in a joint venture. So ultimately Quady will be wrong; and those who think we should take it to production and/or worry that they will have to wait even longer for a great return...not going to happen.
There have been plenty of giveaways:
"We are not minebuilders..."
"Faster not smarter..."
To remind you. The CGP shareholders came on Board for one reason alone: because they believe that the merger is the best way to maximise their gains; and that will take place through either a takeover of Solgold or a sale of Cascabel.
And those are the only two scenarios I see. And we the small shareholders hold the key.
1 I have felt for a long time that the best possible value would be delivered by selling Cascabel and using the funds to develop our astonishing regional portfolio.
And until recently I believed what Nick had said a few years ago. That is wouldn not happen because SOLG would have to pay tax on the gains.
But now In think differently, because I reflected on the recent Exploitation RNS, which makes it clear that to take Cascabel forward we would have to pay a great deal of money to the Ecuadorian government, including corporate taxes in production.
So there is no longer a reason not to sell Cascabel.
And hiving off or IPOing the regionals is too messy; and JVs are too complicated and dilute the potential return.
We have 89 regional prospects and apart from Porvenir, several that are potentially gold rich, but for the last couple of years we haven't had the cash to determine how good those were.
To be continued...
