The Lassonde curve is a theory to explain apparent market behaviour for mining companies from exploration through production...its not pure fiction, but it remains theory...
I am not in any way saying that is not relevant...Nick calls it the 'value valley'...
However in a recent article Ken Kuchling closes with this...
"The ability to promote oneself and stay relevant in the market plays a key role in defining the shape of a company’s curve."
This is not about the vagaries of the market, this is about how NM has run the company, with his own self interest paramount (hence shares for himself but not for BHP or NCM)....especially a corporate governance fiasco that his worst enemy had to point out...
Meanwhile, when are we going to start the Lassonde curve for Porvenir, Rio, La Hueca, Blanca, etc...cos we aint yet if the theory holds true...and I wonder why that is...? "Shock and Ore" with precious little follow through maybe...?
