So its OK to post opinion on what SOLG will or will not do, but its not OK to post opinions on investment strategy...

Who's wrong...me, buying and selling at the margins to increase my long term holding at better prices, or those that have sat on their hands for years...?

You will always find me constructive, transparent and honest...

I don't contradict myself, call people clowns, or attack other people's good fortune...

My best pals on here and ADVFN are pleased when any of us does well; share ideas and strategies; I am eternally indebted to a close friend who put me on to ATYM...and then one of the people on the ATYM board put me onto SOLG...of course you always have to do your research, but I believe you have to work at your portfolio every day. Its my 'day job' in retirement...

But there's always the proportion of mean minded people who resent others' success and feel that its being shoved down their throats because they haven't done so well.

Yes maybe sometimes I might seem self congratulatory; that's not my intention; but sometimes I simply can't believe how incredibly lucky we've been and I would love to share my good fortune with most of you.

Thats why we shared schlem's hurt last year...thats why we offer genuine good wishes to people who have life threatening conditions...

Bought back 71052 at 33.95 having sold 67382 at 36.36...same cash amount...

C'mon BNC...I still feel the same...I sold 5% of our holding to get into APF before it's too late...

Getting out of coal they now have cobalt and vanadium (big battery materials) and streaming royalties...and looking for more exposure to batteries...

Best of all...6% yield and rising...long term hold for me now as and when I take profits and switch into high yielders like APF and POLY...

My targets are never cast in stone and 50/55 is just an opinion for the time being...looked good while the SP was marching steadily up, but probably time for consolidation now before the big push...

There is always a plan, but I haven't made a huge amount of money by sitting long term on SOLG when my gut feel tells me to sell some...

As I said, my average is c18 so it met my target of doubling (for the third time).

One of the things I learned as a Stockbroker was to retain flexibility and adjust to circumstances...

Right or wrong, SOLG SP is strongly correlated with the gold price and when that started to fall I decided to take some off the table...

Don't worry, we still have c1.2 million and I'm still hoping for at least 50p in the next several weeks...

When I was a broker the most common question I got asked was "should I sell my XYZ shares...?"

My answer was always, "only if expect your reinvestment to do better than your current shares"

So...I expected SOLG to slip back and APF to take off soon and did the deal...

As I said, if SOLG fall much further I'll put some back...

As I stated before, just being transparent.

Like the guy on here who's sat on 70k for 5 years, if you have an inflexible strategy you don't make money.

Holdings quoted:

CGP 7.6%
BHP 11.18%
NCM 13.7%

Website says

CGP 6.86%
BHP 13.57%
NCM 13.49%

SP Angel are usually pretty reliable so...

Why would BHP have sold and NCM increased, unless BHP has been using its own shares to try and suppress the SP before making a bid...?

And although only minor increases, have CGP and NCM got wind of a bid?

Shall contact the Company and check.

I totally agree BNC but as long as he adds value, what the heck...

two of them look like a B&B back to back, but what is bullish is that the other two were struck half a penny above the closing SP (and UT)...

Currently 36p equivalent in Canada on decent volume (relative to the average in Toronto...)

Augurs well for tomorrow and the rest of the week...

If there is "we have received an approach which may lead to a bid..." will the share price be suspended...?

35.40 in Canada (at 0.59) but no volume so far...

Aye Colonel...in early Feb I good naturally suggested on the GGP board that some might like to switch from GGP at c26 to SOLG at c22 and got hammered for it...

Current prices 21 and 35.5...

For an initial £10,000 switch one of those who hammered me would either have been c60% better off or own 30,000 more shares in GGP on the return switch...

Trouble is when you try to be helpful, people think you're ramping or deramping....

scrat...a few things have never changed since my days as a Stockbroker in 80/82...

"Leave something in for the next man..."

And finally the Dow theory...

"When everybody's buying like there's no tomorrow, its time to sell..." and

"When people are jumping off the rooves, its time to buy..."

From the era of the 1929 Crash...that's why I'm seriously worried about US equities and huge into gold, silver and copper miners...

And if you're looking for reasons why my strategy can suddenly change, just look at HOC...

I had a big holding, but the Peruvian election outlook spooked me so I dumped the lot and switched into FRES and POLY instead...won't be going back...

Are you telling me you want the SP to stay here...or even fall...?

May I repeat...after being accused of lying about my position in the past and having to post order details, I am now totally transparent in my dealings...not to boost or undermine the SP, but because some people are interested in my current stance...

So let me repeat....and it hasn't changed since my last buys at 28.4...or the previous ones at 20.4...

My wife and i between us still have almost 1.3 million at an adjusted average of c18p...

I was ready to dump the lot if Lasso hadn't won (wait and probably buy them back) for example...

I have total faith in Keith and Ingo...whatever the strategy...I just think a J/V/J/Vs, a bid for Cascabel or even the whole company cannot be ruled out...

And finally...a bid for the whole company needs to be in the range of 100/200p...
