I'm thinking of averaging down, it is starting to look silly cheap now. Doesn't mean it can't get cheaper but is looking like it should, at least, make a short term bottom soon.
I've been waiting 7 months for a response. I'm moving before the end of the year and I doubt that I will have heard anything by then.... given up with it. Oh, HMRC, are on my back for their cut of funds that I haven't even received yet.
I'm still of the opinion that the risks to the mine are mostly priced in already. But I certainly could be missing something.
Can see the price continue to drift down as uncertainly on how the war will end builds but I don't see the Russians coming this far west and the war will be won or loss in the east. The missle attack on the shopping center is probably because the Russians suspected arms storage here. Possibly due to the size of the fire they were, again, it is impossible to know everything going on, enlightenment is welcome.
If you hold the share in an ISA you can claim 20% back with the Swiss keeping the remaining 15%.
If you hold in a SIPP you will be able to claim back the full 35%.
The HRMC will still be interested in the amount you get back as it will no longer be under the ISA/SIPP protection. It really is a silly system.
How? What platform? Limit order, market or was it NT? My live quote is only at £250 now!
@plode I'm not so sure. Generally when there is no stock availible, price needs to go higher to find sellers to create that market liquidity. MM need shares to sell or they make no spread at all. It all really depends on whether GGP holder are diamond hands or paper hands! LOL ;P
Technically support is down at 6p but if there are any share availble at sub 8p, I will double my position! Insane price but this is what the market does.
£300 max currently on my platform.
'Spanish business'? I don't think it is a on-going business but they do have some assets in Spain, an unused gold mine. It was valued at £5m at some point but who know what it worth now. It is the main reason the 3.2m market cap seemed cheap. Lord know what is going on here now, you would have thought that once TA pushed out the board that there would have been a plan? Didn't he buy most of his stake here for 2p plus?
Most of my shares were free but I have added some more, meaning I currently have an average of 5.5p. Bit supprised that support didn't hold around that 10p mark but 8p is also potential support. Beyond that. we will be testing all time lows.
This has fallen a lot harder than EMH and it is a bit hard to see why, is the market anticipating a raise here?
Well that draws a line under that.
Delisting and Termination of ADR programme from 31-05-2022
I was in the same position as you, so I am guessing we will have lost everything we had invested here. I suppose I am fortunate that it is a very small position for me but at $12 I could have sold for a 200% gain!
I know there was always a risk of investing in a Russian stock but Gazprom is a huge company, it felt pretty safe and is certainly worth more than the $3 or so it sometimes shows. I feel like I am actually more p1ssed off with the western sanctions than the delisting decision, I mean what affect have they had, apart from a blip to the rouble! I doubt we will see any recompense, no Russian bank can pay anything to the west even if they wanted to. Still, could be worst, we could be living in Ukraine. I think that is my rant over, time to forget about this bad investment.
'print it out on white paper and file it together with the requested documents' - that is interesting. I, of course, printed the form out on white paper but the copy I received back from the HMRC was on a grey paper? I thought it strange that they kept my nice paper and sent me a copy on this cheap paper but I didn't give it too much additional thought at the time, as it took so long to get back, and promptly sent it off to the Swiss. I now wonder if the HMRC do this on purpose? Frankly, having to deal with them over this and the subsequent self-assessment rubbish I am having to do now, I can understand why so many people have such a low opinion of them. It is not just that they want to tax every penny, twice if they can, but they obscurate and made every easy relief hard to find. At least now I have greater knowledge of expenses that I can claim for, even as PAYE!
@email - you will find out when they hold on to 35% of your dividend payments.
@john
I didn't accept the offer but didn't with the other broker I have either. After all the brokers seemed to paid out, after the 90% RNS, I waited for iweb to do the same. Called them a couple of weeks ago and they said that they didn't have news that the takover was complete. Send an email with the RNS attached and heard nothing back. Yes raising to a complain may be the next course of action.
So how do I find a link to this GGP telegram group?
Oh, you must have gotten mine. After months with just a place marker for POLB, they disappeared and I currently have nothing for POLB in my account! Still hold the ORPH shares I had all this time.
Emailed them and they a response in 3 days, we will see. Useless platform if something goes wrong.
Looking for some advice from anyone who has already completed the process.
Filled in the form and posted end of last year. I chased HMRC early February and send off the returned form with evidence before the end Feb. Still haven't heard anything from the Swiss, no cash transfer, no check, no letter of rejection or one asking for additional evidence.
How long did others have to wait for a response? Is there a good contact number to try and chase the Swiss tax department? Do I have to speak German to do this ;D !
Any views or advice is welcome or wilkomme!
Hmmm.... I also believe that Poltava will be safe from Russian attack but I also would not be supprised if the Ukrainian army collaspes in the next few weeks! Ego, it will safe because the Ukrainian army will hold the Russians where they are or there will be no fighting if/when the Russian advance. It is the fog of war and we will just be guessing until that clears.
My worst case, is that the Russians do take control of Poltava and the west decides to treat the company like other Russian stocks! There would be a lot of IFs to get there and personal I don't think the Russian would advance that far, even if they could. I think the higher likelyhood is, if Ukraine disintegrates, is that Poltava would be part of some puppet state, whether that is control by Russian or Western powers, who knows.
Just speculating, so, I'm going to stop now. Worst case risk is probably not priced in but clearly is still cheap if there was a creasefire tomorrow. You pay your money, you take the risk.
But the price is still dropping....
Bump
iweb still haven't paid out on the compulsory purchase. Any iweb holders on here? Have you heard anything from the broker? I only have a small amount with them but I find it strange that they have been so slow.
Its a good point. Once the war is over of course.
