Having Disgested the Update29 Sep 2018 11:45
Good day CASPers
MO is ENQer, so is used to top quartile drilling performance and quicker more predictable timescales, so have to re-calibrate to "difficult environment/still learning/trial and error" mode when guessing for CASP, as long as nothing catastrophic MO will wait with calmed anticipation, improving macro economics help also.
Obviously would have liked some deep success news, sadly not forthcoming, seemingly tantalisingly close and all deeps still in play.
"Nevertheless, based on recent operational activity, we are hopeful at least one of these wells may soon start to flow."
Regarding metal obstruction in A5, was a surprise as new sidetrack, so if not part of drilling gear, can only think is left from coiled-tubing exercise, maybe skewed and bored into open well section and got stuck, would not expect to take too long to mill a bit of metal, hopefully before end of October's 1st anniversary of A5 flow test, at least the magic drilling mud is down there.
801, acid is finally in the well, acid acts differently at various temps/pressures so is a learning exercise for CASP, like the drilling mud, hopefully have now discovered and using the best completion method, can see for A6 etc, should always look to improve method where can.
"We expect to learn soon whether this acid treatment has sufficiently cleared the well to allow a flow test to commence. "
Was good to see MJF have productive summer with regards to water isolation and cut-off, ready for GCA CPR and prod licence in Q1 19 with infill drilling following, if can stay around 30m 2P is good... Also if can get 808 commercial can have an East Yelemes field.
Hopefully can get some 801 and A5 flow tests going before winter, MO's guess is October... Can hope...
Good luck CASPers
