Downloaded the trades from the London stock exchange and none of those trades show up although a lot of the other trades match up. Presume they will be late reported tomorrow.

Should be an interesting start in the AM.

Dibs, Certainly is been held to push through large trades at 165. I put up a post about this on Friday night. Well guess what, today the 5 largest trades all put through at 165. Same pattern since 13th Jan. Yesterday there were no large trades and low volume like today.

What would be nice right now is to see some in vitro data for SNG001 providing lung protection against the new variants. We did this work in collaboration with the NIH in the US in 2013 when MERS was an issue. Wonder if they are doing this now?

HC, I am not sure it’s a conspiracy. It’s ineptitude. Surely the role of the MHRA in the middle of a pandemic is to save as many lives as possible through the provision of EUA for promising therapies. They kept banging on about risk/reward in respect to vaccine data. The same should apply to therapies, particularly those with good safety data.

Amen Hano. What is the missing piece here? I have watched the evidence build around interferons and covid since March last year and I am not sure it can get any stronger, apart from outstanding P3 results of course. But surely there is enough evidence out there now that doing something to support the interferon response can save lives now. Risk/reward for patients is so compelling in the favour of interferon use.

The almost daily release of new peer reviewed papers on the importance of the interferon response should be considered alongside the data provided by SNG001 the MHRA. Unfortunately my trust in the MHRA has diminished considerably during this pandemic so I am not expecting an EUA coming from the UK anytime soon.

Agree Knowsley. It is a serious accusation. I think it is worth pushing further.

I do find it hard to believe though that the grammar in that email is actually from Horby and also the fact that he did not use the professors title when referencing him. From my experience people in these positions would always use someone's title, particularly if they have been knighted, even in informal communications.

Bruce, I suggest you go and read the paper again. The AZN is not 90% efficacy. Maybe you mean the pfizer/moderna vaccines. The actual reported efficacy is below.

Two recent studies demonstrated that inborn genetic mutations of type I interferon and autoantibodies blocking type I interferon are associated with severe COVID-19 disease, suggesting that type I interferons are key protective factors to prevent severe disease [60,61]. These findings also provide a potential explanation for the wide variety of clinical disease phenotypes. The fact that these two types of flawed interferon responses underlie 14% of COVID-19 severe cases demonstrates the important contribution of innate immunity in preventing COVID-19 disease.”

Thanks Trek. Appreciate this. Some bedtime reading! I certainly don’t blame the mm’s, understand that this is the system and have mates that are mm’s so know they are just doing their job. I believe that by understanding how the system works makes it much easier not to get too hung up on SP movements and that you must trust in your research of fundamentals over everything else.
