It's going to the wire because the 14 day extension was decided between ARA and AEX and only on their expectations of how long it needed. Nothing to do with expectations set by the government. I wont be suprised to see another extension, but hope not.

The asset would have to be sold or farmed out to pay the loan. Whether there would be a buyer?

40mmcf/d is just the minimum amount. The field is set to produce 140mmcf/d which is also the spare capacity at the GPP. May be up to that amount after a couple of drills if you believe past estimates that may have been reached on a successful/clean NT2 drill. That's about $40 million p.a. and will open up the ability to fund other license areas.

Max, it’s been painful and the lack of transparency whilst the government lost focus on progressing any of this whilst they looked towards hydro and reviewing contracts etc has left everyone very suspicious as to what’s going on. One thing imo I’m sure of is aminex would be no more if it wasn’t for the cornerstone investor.

Honest answer is it could be read that way, or it could be read that they are so close they just need a slight extension. To me, logic says the latter.

Max, they didn’t have to advance any payments and could have easily watched the share price drop below the high .3s and continue before picking it all up for a song. No need to put in place the extensions either. The security for the just shy of 5m is fair enough and would not mean all of the asset if it came to that. We’d all be fecked long ago if it wasn’t for the zubairs. They obviously do handsomely from all of this, but it’s worth remembering.

Mj, if the end game was just to take all the asset after all the leg work was done, they could have done that much more quickly and easily. Also, there is no history you can point to with other companies they’ve got involved with. This should all be sorted in the next couple of weeks and if not, it will be because of the government.

I don’t think they said that buck. They said once the cgt was paid, that was everything they needed to do to pass it to the minister to sign off. I don’t think anyone knows what work had to be done once with the minister before he’d sign it off. Everyone just assumed it was a case if writing a signiture, but clearly there’s a bit more to it than that (you’d think at least, given the time it’s taken). Seems a done deal to me. If this was all a way of screwing aminex, they could have announced this extension before. Waiting till the last minute suggests they thought it might not be needed. Fecking ridiculous though.
