From yesterday's trading I would guess the deals at 0.2735 are Buys and those at 0.2700/ 0.2710 are Sells. As I expect most of you know, LSE's mid point for yesterday would have been 0.2750, so it would probably have incorrectly assigned the Buys of 0.2735 as Sells. So yesterday should have show roughly 500,000 Buys v 300,000 Sells. But overall this is very small volume, given the very low SP

Lots in mag today about the recent Coach and Bus show. Useful if you want to know about the industry in general. And some PR for us. However, and I need Steve's help again. An Optare rep was at the show and commented that we "secured business that was not expected". Given they have done a PR for the Epsom order, I e-mailed Optare and asked if they could elaborate on comment. I got a prompt reply, which said: I am afraid we are unable to elaborate on the comment you have picked up. As previously advised, any further news will be published in the news section of our website or, if appropriate via RNS as and when it has been formalised. Make of that what you will!

Good job you are keeping them on their toes. They don't need to pay (so much for) PR company if they are behind these message boards.

This was anticipated by Steve (not our French Steve) over on advfn. There is now an official press release on website. 12 buses for delivery in 2014 to Epsom Coaches. Apparently, this order was confirmed at the recent Birmingham expo. Lets hope there are some orders from other London operators. This is the first order for this new product!

Hard to disagree. This is a copy of an e-mail I sent 3rd Oct. Dear Investor Relations I see some of our competitors have released news of new orders at the recent Coach and Bus Live show. Please could you give me any info on the following: 1. Does Optare have any news from this show? 2. Any news of export orders that we have been told are "in the pipeline" If you are putting a new press release on the official site then I am happy to be directed to that. allex - i would agree, a loss of around £2m for H1. The Sept figs were awful, given that is the month when new regs can peak due to new plate.

The SMMT figures for Sept make for poor reading from an Optare perspective, but ADL and Wrightbus did really well. In total (all manufacturers) almost 150 double decker sales; about 180 in the segment of > 12t. Optare reg JUST 15, presumably mostly in the 8 to 12t category. We are missing the segments where the greatest volume is.

H1 UK volume (and revenue) is likely to be down by about 25%. With no news of exports, H1 financial statement could make for further disappointment. The only possible compensating factor might be more cost savings. I was hoping that with the backing of Ashok, that Optare might win market share, whilst trading at a loss, but cant see any sign of this yet.

See maisung post below, but to be more specific, Ed M has pledged that Lab would freeze domestic elec and gas prices for 2 years if elected. EG Centrica (BG) down 10% since statement. So ALK SP poss linked to this. Does the market think that Lab will get elected, poss in coalition.

Like others, I can only speculate on why the SP is rising on smallish, but above average volume; and plenty of sells. I know nothing about how MMs work but am prepared to accept they can set the SP to suit their needs. As far as CEO is concerned, he does have experience, but I couldn't find and reference to achievements. From what I read, eg on social network profile, his last employment seem to finish in Dec 2012. But perhaps he didn't list current position (ie before joining Optare).

And Sam. This ISN'T the reason either. PR on official site of delivery (so not new order) of 12 Versas for Perryman company. I too would like to know what is raising the price. Perhaps some of the female MM's have fallen for our new 'film star' looking CEO:)

only 25 new regs for August. Very disappointing given the general upturn overall this month. Total bus (ex coaches) up nearly 30%. Optare down 14%.

With the help of Allex's link, I have found that only ONE bus so far exported to Switz. For taking school kids swimming. Could lead to more, hopefully, in my opinion. Can find no numbers on "exports in pipeline" to Holland. As the order is to be "fulfilled by mid Dec", maybe more than ONE!! E-mailed TorquePR, but the contact couldn't say more.

Thanks Allex. Good opportunity to brush up my poor German skills. I think Torque PR are part of Automotive PR, but it is the former who are putting their names at the bottom of latest PRs.
