I whole heartedly agree. Over the many years of investing, the dividend income strategy appears to be the best. What the CFD industry dont tell us is the high percentage who lose money. I have dealt in penny shares in the early 90's when I was young an foolish, trying to make that big buck, which never came. I have tried CFD, being sucked in by the sales spin of often unqualified salesmen, thankfully not losing much. What I have learnt in this lifetime so far, is if money and power is your driver in life, then invest in your own career, aiming to become senior in your role. However, if you neglect the important things, such as human relationships, then you realise the folly of all this nonsense, anyway! GLA.
I wonder if this nutter is having a positive impact here?
I ****ed this trade up too on weds am. However how I am thinking about it is this. The market could have crashed big time, it didn't. Investing in red was an insurance policy, and I guess is still is. Gold, including my recent acquisition makes up 10℅ of my portfolio. In the grand scheme of things it is irritating, and I am glad the market, overall didn't crash. Gla xx

From my own research, there appears to be several factors, the ongoing brexit saga, and fluctuating pound has had a positive, initially, and now negative impact on dollar denominated companies. If Trump wins, they predict a further weakening of the dollar, against Stirling, hence further weakening of companies such as rrs. Who knows, at the end of the day we are going through a very tricky period, and I am sitting on a lot of cash at the moment, as I haven't got a clue where to invest. Certainly not before the presidential's, anyway!
Try Halifax sharedealing, they charge a very small amount to reinvest dividends, Its vitally important to reinvest, rather than taking cash, unless you need to. You will lose out on compounding if you do. I have a very substantial portfolio after 30years of investing in this manner. Good luck.
In 4 days, The best investment I ever made. Thank you brexiteers xxx
Yes, it could be a buying op, who knows. When that cruise ship sank a few years ago, i watched the share price sink with it, only to rise again. As for the little retard causing this, I would thump the little bastard to within an inch of his life. these little brats were hung for stealing apples 200years ago, its time kids were put very firmly back in their place.
I feel for all the survivors of this. Going for a fun day out and this happens, horrific. I hope they are able to pull through ok, and get on with their lives. Money does not mean anything when stuff like this happens, although the compo will help. My sympathies to all concerned.
I am sure the Ebola bullet has the UK's name on it, in which case this one will fly!
my mum inherited 100 shares from my grandad in 1992. she was delighted when i told her how much they are worth, she is a completely passive investor, lol!
Welcome Sam Here is the one I had in mind, I am up 30% in 1 year on this, a great fund manager, and I can sleep at night. Marlborough UK Micro Cap Growth Inclusive - Class A - Accumulation (GBP) All the best mate
mate I am sorry also to hear your loss, and half your lifesavings! I would be gutted, mega. The best way to play this game is to be strict with your stop losses and to diversify big time. If you want to get into the small companies try a unit trust fund, such as marlborough smaller companies, and invest small monthly amounts. you are spreading the risk, and utilising the knowledge of the experts. Again really sorry, you must be hurting bad :-(
Yeah right :-)
Use stop losses in future, and don't listen to serial rampers aka Harry on the hill!
these little companies are too risky. I find the younger people or those inexperienced investors fall the allure of making it big, without contemplating the increased risk of loses. Been there, and done it. It might be worth looking at a good quality microcap fund manager. These professionals have more time to buy and sell quickly, and get the news long before we do. Any sorry to see people making huge losses on here, the only winners are the directors. Where is the justice, lets hope karma bites them on the backside. GLA
great news today, reveals a special dividend :-)
