I have you now. If you drill clay with water base the clays will swell. Basic potters wheel stuff. Did they do this? I do not know. Clays should be drilled with OBM when possible. No wonder they are looking at it again. It even passed me by. Well spotted.

Winx was drilled so fast they could have used a water based system. One string of casing and cemented . Drill ahead. it could have been overbalance all the way. I do not know. Ask 88e or RMP. Last week I actually thought they might sidetrack something horizontally while the rig was there. But alas no.
Vision pulled a bllnder with overbalance in Texas and managed to f... up one of our first wells. Did they do that with Winx? I do not know anymore. They have manage to loose me completely with ambiguous crap from them all.

Alkaid should have brine in the well at this stage. I do not know for drilling but I would presume water based mud would not be used as it would probably freeze at surface in the mud pits at surface if left to sit although all may be heated. So I would think oil base.

I just try to keep things simple for everyone that does not understand. Then we get the replies from experts on little things. That is why I am not on that board anymore. I had it all wrong for years. Hope this price picks up now.

On the other board. A swab test is done by pulling pipe fast to induce the well like a syringe. This shows if the well will free flow. Obviously never worked so they fracced Zoi. How it took this long is another question. Swab test 1 day max and frac another one.

You do not want perforations above you logically. Start at the bottom do the work there. The casing/tubing is therefore always intact as you move up. Each zone is plugged and cemented so you get accurate results without flowing from another zone.
Off to beach and my boat in the water finally this year.

Normally we start on the bottom zone. Perforate or whatever test. Then we plug back with an EZSV and some cement on top. Test the cement so there is no communication from the bottom zone. Next zone done the same way.
And then the third zone. So in my opinion bottom zone next week.

It will take them probably a year to get Alkaid into production. Test it,all good and build into the pipeline. Can not just build into a pipeline like that without all permits in place and shut down to accommodate us. The pipeline needs to be shut down, drained and then cut into. Pressure tested and then re-opened. It is not done in a day and there is nothing produced from anywhere whilst this is done. It can be done on a pre-planned maintenance shutdown only I would think. Anyway Theresa is playing a blinder. Pound has not got a clue what is happening. Europe are about to tell UK to F... Off. No Brexit is my bet and as usual I will be wrong.

Before this silly stuff gets out of hand. The well head and valves on top( xmas tree or just valves are fully tested to 5/10 thousand psi before the location is left. That means they can withstand a flood of even Biblical proportions. How do you think we drill wells in 10,000 feet of water? Integrity both internally and externally same on land. Wells were shut in because they could not get a contract together in Texas. In Alaska they came back and the well integrity was good. It had better be!

10 days to log a well? There must be a lot to log. Especially so shallow. I am used to 5 day logs at 15,000 feet so even better.

This is what happens when people do their job properly so far. Basically we PANR have had nothing to do with the drilling of either well. Vision are gone now. Next well in Texas should be drilled competently and we are home and dry( hopefully wet in oil). The flares will be burning bright in Alaska this month. GLA at last I am happy.
