I was reading between the lines in yesterday's interview and the main thing I took from it was in relation to the wearables, I think it implied the wearables deals will wait until ethics approval on the challenge study before being signed. That's not to say they wouldn't still sign a deal without COVID data, but you'd have to assume it would be a lower value if it was only based on historical data.
What was noticeable to me was a change in language from CF to be more affirmative in a wearable deal coming - much more of a "we will sign them, and there will be many of them" rather than "we are in talks with" as the previous line was. What this infers is a belief that covid challenge studies ethical sign off is a given, that multiple wearable deals following from that is a given, and because the deals will be an ongoing licensing deal rather than a one-off, it means that is a presumption of future contracts, especially in relation to COVID.
There was a lot less passive language than previously and I only really detected a slight embarrassment in slippage of the timings, a bit of a "I know it's a bit later than expected, but please bear with us, we've done so well for you so far, and one more month and you'll be over the moon again"
