For me this is all about risk and reward even if it doesn't fit your personal criterion which you seem to be positioning as some sort of universally accepted rules, which they're not.

Good morning kread. The approach you claim to take (only deal with what's known) is of course an entirely sensible lower risk (and maybe lower reward) tactical approach. However, like many on here, I choose to take more risk (and maybe with higher reward) by taking full account of what's known, but making my investment decisions based upon what I assess to be the next and future. Neither is better, just different.

BB: I agree with what you've said about successful companies, but with one addition - leaders need vision and the ability to inspire their people and key stakeholders. Imagination, ambition and risk taking are some of the behaviours of leaders. What you're describing are some of the behaviours of managers. HE1, like every organisation, needs both.

It’s difficult or impossible to make a judgement about someone’s motivation based upon their posts, unless they declare it and even then who knows what to believe on an anonymous free chat! It’s wasted energy - I suspect some don’t even know themselves what motivates them!

I don’t try and establish their motivation - I try to assess their value-add to the chat based on the accuracy of the ‘facts’ or ‘data’ they rely upon and the balance and insight they offer.

Kread: there’s two dynamics to balance for all well-led and governed businesses - risk and reward, not just risk. Potential rewards have materially increased quickly - risk tolerance will be adjusted accordingly.

Not only do we now have an immediate supply issue (which may move from acute to chronic), but events have also exposed a strategic supply risk. Posters characterising this is a short term issue are completely missing the point.
