Johnny have a look at an historical chart. From a bad memory PLUS paid out a whopper dividend circa 12% and it went UP ex divi as well.

Obviously we cant be sure that the same will happen, but many people are at a loss to this drop (no long funds reducing, no shorts increasing)

This leads me and others to believe this is pre div sell off (see last post). The flipside of that is many people will be waiting to buyback in on the forecase "ex divi drop" which in turn causes an ex div rise as most sellers have already sold pre div!

Im open to any other suggestions but to assume a 20p price cut from Berenberg has caused a 132p drop I cant agree, especially when you read their full note it is very positive on numbers (See earlier post)

I think the selling might be (apart from due to Berenberg) as some don't want to hold it through the ex-div date (due to tax) and buy it back after the ex-div date. Have seen this pattern before of weakness pre-div and strength post

Hello, I will have update later today. It’s been quiet recently because the prosecution has been reciting hundreds of old emails to the jury - so there’s not been much to report on. You will likely see more coverage around it in early March, because that’s when defence kicks off.

Its a good question...I GUESS what they do is calculate the estimate net profit and then retrace the SP to a period in time when the net profit was similar to that estimated and base their target Sp at the price, but then factor in dividend increase EPS etc

The problem is as a broker once you've given a price you cant then increase that price whilst at the same time forecasting a revenue drop. This is a complex market and I dont think any of them understand enough to even quote

Or its one of the largest funds who hold long reducing slightly

Berenberg cut from 810 to 790 shows how clueless they are given they also state result, " expects Plus500 to generate sales of USD359 million, down 4.6% from USD376 million forecasted previously. Earnings before interest and tax estimates were also lowered, to USD183 million from USD199 million, resulting in earnings per share estimates of 138.04 cents versus 140.00 cents seen before.

EBIT of USD183 million on a MCAP of £956m with $300m Cash

Those are very strong numbers against any company in any sector. PLUS is a cash machine

You would expect that but I remember this paying a huge dividend about 12% and it went UP ex div..check the chart

Looks like after shorts had dropped to 3.74% someone is today increasing their short position after Berenberg CUT their (clueless) price estimate by 20

You must remember many are still holding from the drop and bought in in the 600's so are now taking profits of 50%+

IMHO wait for the sellers to clear, then the shorts to reduce and the buybacks to start. Target for me 1155

Watch those shorts reduce....heavily!
