Praise be to petrofac. If it was not for this little gem my shares would look a sorry state. 888 10% Down Centica 20% down Lloyds 20% down And to cap it off. Saga 50% down. This and national grid are currently the only rays of sunshine in my small little world of share dealing. Just about keeping me in the black. Why do I invest anywhere else.????

No worries sebs. I'm staying in although I do wish I had waited a day or two before buying. But I am in no rush to recover my capital. Very used to waiting a long time for a share to recover. Just remember it's only a profit or a loss at the point of sale.

I doubt the shorters ever feel the heat. They have been here for so long and had to hold on through 600+. They will ride this for as long as possible. With their algos they have probably already more than doubled their money. Many more ups and downs to be had.

Cheers I'm on a good run at the moment. First time in years I've been in the black. I probably should have looked a little more at the financials before buying. But the yeild looked good and I feel there is growth in the betting market. More countries over the world opening up betting, its the one vice that is accepted almost everywhere.

Got in to this share today. Had a look over the weekend and this one caught my eye. Hope it diversifies my current holdings and is fairly brexit safe.

They cut the dividend 2 years ago when SFO first announced. You can view the debt reduction as a result of that war chest being built

Took a while to get a reaction to the eoy report, but seems to be motoring quite nicely now.

The shorts have been involved from 350p all the way up to 680p and back down again. Who knows what their average is or whether they are in strategically or tactically. some short positions could be hedged against long term holdings.

But can they work for a company that does?

It may be nonsense but clearly there are enough people out there who believe it's the case. I'm still invested, but not as heavily as this morning. I think the company is sound but too many eggs in one basket. Should never have 50% of your savings in one company for to long.

Possibly. But that overhang has been there for 2 years now and if you bought it at the lows of 350, there have been opportunities during that time to sell at 680. That's a near 100% increase. Not bad for a company with an overhang. As always dyor. For me I have to ask what is the worst case outcome of the SFO. Will it make the company go bust? If the answer is no, then what is the bottom value of the company of say there is a billion pound fine (far worse than I expect). To me we are already pretty close to that bottom value, so the potential upside is greater than the downside.

If you think about it, clearing so much debt is akin to getting ready for any fine. Any fine less than half a billion and pfc are just back to where they where debt wise a year or so ago. A fine of that size would not even require an adjustment in the dividend which is currently yeilding 7%. Great value.

Debt is down. If you don't like debt, hope you are not invested in bluechips like bt.

Shorting at this level is high risk. How much more can it go down, rather than up. More upside here
