Chris Whitty has already stated that we must learn to live with it, jut like flu. As far as I understand all approved vaccines prevent the overwhelming majority of hospitalisations. Yes, some are more effective in preventing in infections in particular strains but the ultimate goal is to stop death. My guess is there'll be a tweak to version 1 of Pfizer/AZ etc and it'll be rolled out to the critical groups later this year.

Rolls was in need of a course correction prior to the start of the pandemic but on a positive note this has probably pushed it in the right direction.

Europe's vaccinations will speed up exponentially now (though not to the direct benefit of RR). Once the bulk of vaccinations have been done in the wealther nations then focus will turn to helping the poorer ones.
