- Russia incurs a massive loss of troops and tanks in the eastern Ukraine
- The loss is seen as a major failure by the Kremlin. Putin gets arrested by the FSB.
- Navalny is released from prison and takes the presidency (because it'd instantly repair the relationship with the West)
- Poly goes to the moon. Pog goes to the moon. Evraz is unsuspended and goes to the moon

Or Putin just dies of cancer/shoots himself would also do the trick.

Nothing has fundamentally changed IMO. SMRs have been in the pipeline for years but all of a sudden RR are going to have to spend cash on SMR factories? The Government are going to have to commit to placing orders soon and make a down payment such as on the first one. They can't expect the private sector to do all of the heavy lifting when we have energy security issues (thanks Putin).

The design phase is fully funded. In the mean time the balance sheet will be repaired as the civil aviation sector is returning to 2019 levels.

There's been a few mentions of progressing the peace talks from both Zelenskyy and Lavrov today so i'm not convinced we'll go lower Monday. Nothing that particular negative stands out in the Russian media.. apart from the usual spin.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insisted on Saturday that he remains committed to reaching a peace agreement with Russia despite Moscow's recent attacks that left significant civilian casualties.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Zelensky explained that "no one wants to negotiate with a person or people who tortured this nation. It's all understandable. And as a man, as a father, I understand this very well," however adding that "we don't want to lose opportunities, if we have them, for a diplomatic solution."

The UK is almost certainly Russia's enemy #2 after seeing Boris with a big smirk in Kiev earlier. Yes, some major companies such as BP will have to stay away but that's more about energy security plus they're too political. All the other companies like Audi/BMW etc, luxury goods, Ikea, Maccies, will unsuspend themselves and carry on as before. In fact it should be encouraged IMO to continue to showcase a lifestyle that the Kremlin is robbing off them. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

There was already a peace deal verbally agreed to and Ukraine has already conceded enough for Putin to claim a 'Win'. On the other hand if Russia keeps pushing then there's a big likelihood they'll end up with FA.

Look at what's happened so far, more NATO on his doorstep.. EU and US more unified.. far greater sanctions than expected. There's also the chance that Ukraine starts to win back more territory, how would that look for the spectacular regime?

I hope the West gives Ukraine more offensive weapons such as Harpoons. A couple of sank war ships would help the Russians realise it's not worth it.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed on Thursday that Moscow received a different draft proposal from Kiev than what was discussed with Ukraine last month. He said Ukraine previously agreed with security guarantees not applying to Crimea, but that that clause is absent from the draft and accused the United States of pushing Ukraine to continue hostilities.

That's my opinion too. There's no way the Russians could land grab the whole of the south coast and expect to hold it indefinitely, not with the West supplying high-tech weapons to an angry Ukrainian army. It's a quick 'win' then a retreat after a deal is signed. The main issue is not the 2 Donbass oblasts either, it seems to be more stuck with what to do with Crimea. All in IMO of course.

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Sunday that the West would be willing to lift sanctions against Russia if Moscow's negotiations with Ukraine result in an agreement that will end the conflict.

"The purpose of the sanctions is not to be endless, but to change the behavior of Russia," Blinken said during an appearance on NBC.

The top US diplomat added that the sanctions will have a "long-term impact" on the Russian economy as most Western companies have left the country and the export controls are denying Russia "the technology it needs to modernize, industry after industry."
