Charles Jillings, CEO of Utilico, energized by strong economic momentum across Latin America. Watch the video here.
Bseisu has never put his head above the parapet. I have said for years he lacks the leadership characteristic needed to lead from the front. Bright engineer he might well be, and heavily invested too, but aside from a few whimpers at a Davos conference, he seems invisible, like a mouse when a cat is prowling. His previous generous donations to the Conservatives must be galling given the treatment meted out to his company.
Good shout Dumbly. Sunak and Hunt can play havoc with Labour after this latest statement. By putting actual numbers to Labour’ s “ Green Manifesto” and presenting them in a simple Janet and John format, the public can get a true grasp on the current and future cost of renewables and how it would impact the man in the street. Additionally they can highlight the horrific costs of expanding the grid, the folly of attempting to build electricity storage banks the size of a small country , and pinpointing the lies Milliband and a Starmer have spouted . I would pay good money for a ringside seat.
Where did Starmer say it would be only the majors KO? Haven’t seen that, but would be good news for Enquest if true. My thoughts today are that Labour are not rock solid on what they will do on the energy front, is Milliband pushing the drive? Does Starmer back him or will he hang him out to dry if they run into rough net zero weather. I’m more inclined to the Labour key players as Fred Karno’s army, and if the Tories stop fighting each other, the GE could be a much closer run thing than is supposed. Labour have an opportunity to govern , not because of their
Excellence but because the Tories absolutely frigged the economy. Is there a way back for Sunak?
Romaron, thanks, irony is often lost on a thicko like me. You are of course, right about the need for the NS companies to put the boot into the Govt. A thought on that has occurred to me . It is entirely possible that this has indeed happened , changes have been agreed, but been embargoed until Sunak determines the optimal political moment to announce it. Does nothing for our blood pressure of course.
Funny old country we live in, maybe I should go back to Jockland.
Romaron, what is good about cratering a successful O and G industry? I don’t follow your logic.
Probably.
Romaron, I’ve seen you say that you questioned AB why he doesn’t just run the business into the ground. A great question. His reply “ it doesn’t work that way” ??
Did you ask him why not, or how does it work?
Re Bseisu at Davos. Words are cheap , he must be judged by his actions, or inactions.
Excellent forecast valuation Sek. This kind of look down the telescope helps disgruntled LTHs like me stay the course.
KO . The EPL is essentially a political move to keep Labour off the Tories back. Coincidentally it brings in enough to enable the squatter at No 10 to offset the price of allowing his banker cronies greater tax breaks. In all of this Hunt is the monkey , Sunak the organ grinder.
Stevo, was Enquest misled or did Enquest know. Great question.
A 60% drop in production in a year should surely have been foreseen in a rigorous due diligence . Could the massive drop been mitigated by Enquest factoring in an earn out on the price. Enquest deals have not been great to date, maybe dear old Mr Hunt will smooth out rough edges by blessing future opportunities we have. Won’t be holding my breath, but am hoping.
On the other hand, I am old enough to know that hope is not a strategy. Prayer mats out chaps.
No no, Golden Eagle can’t be a disaster. The big hitters on this board were telling the world what a smart move it was and how clever management had been.
Company assertion absurd , or disingenuous ? Comment ?
Hi Sekforde, happy new year to you. I agree that Trump being re elected will be a disaster, and in that case ~I doubt any of us will be worried about shares in a minor oil company. We'll be too busy digging fallout shelters.
I doubt very much that he will be re elected, even red neck right wingers in the US are just not that stupid.
At present he is a daily pantomime show, and his ridiculous utterances entertain the bored yank, but, a jail sentence from any of his 91 indictments will radically change the election forecast.
I'm more concerned with Sunak and Hunt and their notion of screwing the North Sea by windfall taxes.
Wishing all Enquest shareholders a happy and prosperous New Year, in particular, long term holders.
Mansardman.
Take your well made points Romaron, but it has been some time now since you were told by
AB that running the company into the ground was not the way things went. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then. I’d like to be as confident as you are about his intention to stay the course. As a Tory donor he must be gutted at the way the business has been stymied by the Tories shotgun approach to taxing the oil business. The future appears to hang on the capriciousness of a party whose very existence is in the balance come the next general election.
That and the likelihood that the ideology of the probable incoming government has never been known to be pragmatic.
Never mind, jam tomorrow.
Ha ha positive news and Bseisu in the same sentence.
Enjoy your holiday Stevo.
Labour are desperate to hide the true cost of renewables and will lie to do so. Dodds’s comment is merely staying on message and perpetuating the lie first put out by Millibrand. Dodds is not the sharpest tool in Labours box, hence her replacement by Reeves. Ideology is a constant and an imperative in Labour’s MO. No change there.
