I had really little hope of support from the Govt for the future of NS oil and gas operations until recent words from Kwarteng gave some hope. I’d say he was a supporter but with news of his P45 I think that hope has gone. Let’s see if Labour finishes the job of windfall taxing the eff out

Hey Banjo, re the WFT, I believe you are correct, as things stand. That's not to say that the lobbying that has been and is being done with Kwarteng by the O&G companies will pass unnoticed. This government will not want to see NS operating companies alter their capital plans and invest elsewhere in the world , which is very likely under the existing shotgun application of the tax. Not all O&G companies are in the same ball park as Shell, BP etc.
I expect a modification of the tax rules.

A bold progressive statement is required to prise open the coffers of heavyweight investors. Sadly the CEO of Enquest is not the business leader to provide that. A take over is my best hope for this aimless entity.

The most upbeat optimistic Enquest player on this board for years has been Romaron. To read his earlier ultra depressing note has thrown my wavering belief in the company to the ground. I have been a LTH since 2017 mostly seeing the opportunities going forward, but after yesterday in the commons and Romaron's call De Profundis, I am gutted.

Re. The US markets. KO. The US will do whatever they wish, and the outcomes may or may not be benificial to us as Enquest shareholders. Who knows.?
What I’d like to know is how you know we are doing very well at keeping production around 50 K, banking huge FCF and paying off the debt quickly . Other than wishful thinking and pious hopes do you have an inside track on his information?
