KO, take it easy mate, there are media hitters such Telegraph and Times fronting up to the government on oil and gas. It will come out in the wash soon, Sunak’s preference to reward his banker associates, and his slavish obsession with taxing oil companies, all oil companies, irrespective of how much or little they succeed is shortly going to bite his ass. Starmer’s acceptance of 1.5 £M from an anti oil chancer , will see him accused of planning to close the North Sea with the loss of tens of thousands of jobs. The Sue Grey affair won’t do him any favours and flip flopping from one principle to another is being noticed by the public .
I don’t buy the idea that this anti oil drive is supported by “ zealous activists”. They are civil terrorists and again the public is turning on their antics. You are right on the notion that business profit being seen as disgusting, Starmer, Rayner and Reeves seem to be as stupid as the Tories ( who are the party of business ) in spouting judgement without analysis or future thoughts simply because on the one hand Labour see it as an open goal for election, and on the other, Sunak is a mediocre banker who got lucky and will bend to any pressures to make him look good.
Sunak is the biggest thorn in the side of oil and gas. A spineless, photo op. grinning his head off as the country sinks into oblivion. Profit is a dirty word in Britain but the wheel will turn and eventually return. In time. Do we have the tenacity to wait this out with Enquest.
