I normally buy engineering/tech stocks....this is my first and last pharma bet. Made money on Van Elle, IQE and Elecosoft. Broke even on Redhall...but may buy back in, as something brewing. This was the only company to reply to my e-mails....OXP have gone "zombie "....not a good omen !.
Hi Tivv....I laughed at your comments....well what else have we got to talk about here ?. Just heard the OXP song [ to Jackson 5's ABC] : OXP, we're waiting for OTC, Our share price is down 2p, Oh dear me, That's how sleazy AIM can be, my pension pot is now MT !.
What a coincidence !. OXP are said to be working on a pill for gunshot wounds and an anti-woodworm ointment. Should push the share price up by 0.00001p.
Totally agree with you Tivv....this is the last AIM share I will buy. Have done alright on main market, but AIM is so manipulated by the MM's, that you don't stand a chance. It is pitiful I know, but I have made more money on Premium Bonds this year, than AIM shares. What guts me the most, is that I sold 2 high-flying shares to fund this dog and am now trying to convince myself that it will come good. At least we didn't lose 5% today....only 3. Lol
Hi Masterbaker....so your luck is as bad as mine then ?. I recently went to DFS to buy a new sofa and it was the only day of the year, that they didn't have a sale !. [ A Janet Street-Porter joke...but not bad ].
Hi Tivv....You would probably do better than me. I've been trading shares for 20 years and STILL get it wrong !. However, trading AIM shares can be defined as " The transfer of money from the impatient to the patient "....which I have learned to my cost. People here are panic selling, at a time of uncertainty ....but once the dust has settled, I reckon the shares will rise to 10p medium term.....and I am a confirmed pessimist !.
Hi Thelix...Yes, that is the problem...the "market" is still confused. Is OXP going to be a money earner or a money burner ?. At the moment, sentiment is with the latter, due to lack of direction from the BOD. This may eventually be a wonder stock, but it's going to test our nerves. I am holding, as the last 3 AIM shares I bought initially bombed....so I sold at my stop loss marker....6 months on, one has gone bust, but two are up 50%. As OXP are cash rich at the moment, what are the chances of a merger or takeover, by another pharma ?.
Hi Thelix...It is a pity that we can't elect you to the board of OXP as their PR man.....they are sadly lacking in this department !. Mentally, I have already consigned this to the " bottom drawer "....sometimes old dogs bark again. Regards.
Hi Abown.....Well, Thelix reckons about 18 months to commercialisation...and he sounds pretty knowledgeable. What do you think will happen over those 18 months ?. ....cash burn, little news, PI indifference and worst of all, MM manipulation of SP. I hope I am wrong, as I have a large holding here.....but, take off those rose-tinted glasses and you see the reality. In the worst scenario, the SP could drop to 1p.....in which case, I too will chance a top-up. As you say, timing is everything. DYOR and good luck !.
Kayzer...I'm glad you think so....50% down from high....and the highs get lower and the lows get lower !. As yet, we have no product and no market...just cash in bank....hardly inspiring. I appreciate that other posters are passionate about this share...but a word of warning...I too have become emotionally attached to other AIM shares and held on + averaged down etc and always come a cropper, when the BOD go strangely silent. I have lost too much on this one to bale out now and can only hope that the great and good on this board are right.
Thelix...your views give me some comfort and I hope you are right. I am holding on by my fingertips here and trust that the BOD have a blockbuster RNS out soon....or at least a credible Plan B. Surely, major shareholders must be exerting some pressure in the background ?.
Too right !. This will be a 1p " cash shell " by next week.
@hitman....Yes !....This share is sinking faster than the Titanic. It is a bad sign, when even large buys cannot stabilize the SP. I will be tempted to abandon ship at 1.5p....even if I take a 50% loss. I have done fairly well on FTSE shares, but Aim is the pits and shares like this eventually end up in the wilderness for years.
Yes, I agree Oxp has possibilities.....but we need answers sooner than later. Mr Market does not tolerate set-backs, blips or silence. I have already lost my shirt on this one and can already feel my trousers slipping !.
Please don't take umbrage with each other....we are all in this together. I find both your posts informative...if at opposite ends of the spectrum. This is what we need for a lively discussion....there is nothing worse than a "zombie" BB.
Of course the BOD messed up !. They are paid to know these requirements and get it right. I sincerely hope that they can salvage something from this situation short term, whilst continuing the necessary clinical trial. I am only angry at myself [ as a seasoned and MATURE investor ], for believing all the hype. As with most Aim shares, if it sounds too good to be true....it usually is !.
Mikemike talks sense....the BOD messed up big time. Beware of blatant rampers....as I have found to my cost. I hope there is another spike, as I need to cut my losses....but I am not holding my breath.
