MM walking this share lower every day....typical AIM mugging of PI's. Regretting selling my Tesco shares, to buy this pile of poo. Am off to thrash myself with birch branches.
Spindok...Thanks for your thoughts. What do you make of the 795,654 share trades on the 12th....hopefully all buys ?.
Dar...Thanks for info. In view of their weakened position, do you think Van Elle are a takeover target ?.
Don't want to be....all by myself....on this board !.
MM keeping it pretty tight. Has anybody got any thoughts on trading pattern ?
Some big buys today...maybe something stirring ?. Hope so....made a few quid on Tesco and bought back in here.
He's a real nowhere man, Probably living with his mam, Spends all day on nonsense spam, For nobody......apologies to the Beatles.
AllAtSea....I hold my hand up and admit that I have Tesco shares from the 5 glory days. I kept them for the generous divis and at one time was earning over 2500 pa....and hoped it would supplement my pension. Thank goodness the wife came into money and now keeps me !. I have gradually sold down my holding and invested in other things, but still retain a modest amount. I realise that the retail landscape has changed and that Tesco/Booker may not regain the glory days...but they will come out fighting. When Tesco go quiet, they are usually up to something behind the scenes !!
Time out guys !. One of the most important lessons I've learnt , is not to get emotionally attached to a share, as your judgement [ either way ] gets clouded and you will lose money. Tesco will probably do better than WWT predicts, but not as great as Jonjo hopes. The only way I make money these days, is to sell on spikes and buy back as the price subsides, as it usually does. My motto is " A small profit, is better than a big loss ".
Now then lads, no squabbling please...remember, it's only a share. If I am brutally honest, I wouldn't have lost as much money [ especially on AIM shares ], if I had listened to a few "naysayers"...but I thought that I knew best. However, I am comfortable with Tesco, as one of the few big companies left with any prospects....and we have some clever minds on the job. The golden years of making easy money on the Stock Market have gone [ except for the MM's], as too many PI's chasing the dream. If I can make a few quid on a share these days, it's a bonus !.
.....this share buying malarkey. The SP does the exact opposite of what one expects. The skill is knowing what to expect.....and it's obviously one I haven't yet mastered in 20 years of trading !.
Arsenal58....Had loads of these ....sold most in January, at a big loss....so yes, I am sore with this company. I only blame myself though. Read an article, where this company was branded a " lifestyle" outfit.....good living for the BOD and b**ger the PI's. I didn't listen and bought in a number of times. Remember, " contracts " without any work are worthless....much like this company. Good luck anyway.
.....to jump ship. This company ALWAYS disappoints !.
Yes Opium...it makes me wonder too !. Wife made us shop in local Aldi, instead of Tesco, during snowy weather. I thought food prices were good....but oh dear...the state of the shop. All left-over non-food ' special buys ' piled in central aisles.....it looked more like Poundland [ which is a lot neater, by the way ]. Very depressing. Thank goodness we are back to Tesco now.
Itsonlyagame....Good post...a view supported by Midas in the Sunday Mail today. Verdict = " Keep Tesco in your basket after merger ". Combined buying power will be enormous. GLA
WWT = the Wolf of Wigan Town has spoken. We are all doomed !.
Think the battery's a bit flat. Shouldn't have bought these...I am the kiss of death to AIM shares....really sorry !.
The more that WWT and BJ **** off Tesco, the higher the price rises !. So boys, keep it up and give me 2.50 worth of your best.
Skippy....Yes, it's all gone a bit flat, since the euphoria after flotation. Not sure that the current BOD really know how to steer a listed company. I sold at 1.25 after float, but have been waiting for right price to buy back in, as could do well with competent management. This is top of my watch list and would deffo buy at 80p.
Hi Bruce...please delete the word " hedge " and insert " investment ". There were a lot of large sells, which I suspect came from disgruntled " funds ". It is not my day today !. Had to take wife shopping in nearby Aldi, as roads to our usual Tesco, were a bit dicey. Then lost a big chunk of a front tooth, eating my Aldi pizza dinner. Pizza not to blame, as front teeth getting fragile with age !. Good to see a few more contributors on this board. The constant feud between WWT and Jonjo, is wearing me down. Regards.
