The field is spread over approximately 280km². It contains resource in the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic formations. The majority of the production at the field is from the Upper Jurassic fractured carbonates.
If we are half the size of Shaikan I’ll settle for that. I have just read that, initially, huge quantities of crude oil had to be trucked 120 km to the nearest terminal. It was quite some time before large-capacity pipelines were built. We do enjoy certain advantages in that respect!
