The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I’m trying to be optimistic. I’m a relatively recent investor (3 years ) and my average is low but I was getting worried recently. Still am but very cautiously optimistic as I have no other choice. I feel for those of you who have been in longer and have much higher averages . I really hope that this pays off . Good luck everyone !!
Si Derman, this isn’t aimed at your specifically but at all the people who relentlessly post about all these people with so called multiple accounts . I’ve been investing for just a couple of years and I come on here for genuine news of RNS or facts about ship movements or the potential for the actual product etc . The idea that I will buy or sell based on the sentiments expressed by anonymous people (as everyone is on here ) is ludicrous . Please please please all of you stop waffling on about Haggis or whoever. It’s clogging up this forum with nonsensical rubbish and it’s seriously making me concerned at my own judgement in investing in this company if this is the calibre of discussion of my fellow investors. If you want an argument , can’t you go on twitter and pick a fight there ? I can’t be the only one sick of this tedious , schoolboy foolishness.
it really depends on what the part is . i understand that everyone is stressed but perhaps this wasn’t foreseeable ? perhaps a second back up operation was completely unaffordable or logistically impossible ? my average is 1.8p and i’m ****ed off so i can only imagine how those of you with much higher averages must feel. there is nothing else to do but to continue to wait …
No amount of preparation or advance shipments could have stopped somebody holding up a shipment waiting for a bribe but never saying the word bribe . A protracted dance of two weeks was needed to get to the “government fee in cash” request. And this was a small shipment .Certain territories are like that. Morocco certainly is .
I once did a big job in Morocco in an unrelated sector and had to deal with customs . They were extremely difficult to deal with and I won’t say corrupt but in the end a large “government fee” in cash had to be paid , so don’t blame QFI too quickly. People are underpaid and wil make money however they can …
Out of interest , how do you get to a figure of £1+ ? I’m genuinely interested in how people visualise the possibilities . Like why not £5 per share ? Is that an insane number ? I’m just trying to get some perspective.
Let’s say msc and Morocco result in commercial contracts in 2023. Where do people see the share price potentially and realistically going ?
