Oh dear God not you and all. Is there anybody on here that knows what this dispute is about? Anyone? Fruit that is not what I am asking is it. So for clarity what exactly do the CWU want what are they after. All of you on here seem to think you know and yet not one of you can tell me in any detail what this is about and I mean specifics. Some of you are apparently heavily invested in this share and you do not know the depths of what is actually happening in this business. It is disgraceful

JB but where do the customers go? Especially letters there is no one to go to. All 21 points are part of existing and known disagreements there is nothing new. So why even bother with mediation. The cwu do it because it is a legal requirement. Its not going to solve this at all and Royal Mail are trying to drag things out

Clueless you have got it wrong again. Right then, so Hermes have cut all the rates of pay per delivery for staff who are self employed. The have had to do this to ensure that they can pay what they call the self employed plus employees weekly pay irrespective of how many they deliver and holiday pay. They are currently bursting at the seams with work they cannot handle anymore they cannot gear up for what they have at present let alone attempt to take our work.

Of course we want an agreement but that for that to happen Rico has to be in the room if that don't happen then IA it is. You said that this will hand business to the competition. Well to a point you are correct. But the competition are swamped now they cannot cope. Hermes and Yodel the two next biggest handlers of parcels with about 12% of the market each are losing employees hand over fist they are leaving in droves. They cannot handle what they have now this minute let alone deal with us who hold a 48% market share and that's being liberal. they dont have the staff the network the outlets. Yeah we will lose some work no doubt about that. That is collateral damage but if we get an agreement I will ouve with that

Well after that rant it is absolutely crystal clear and you don't need a barrister to suss this out, that you do have a huge issue with the CWU which is clearly clouding your judgement. And to reiterate I estimate that the CWU will have a 90% turnout with 95% supporting industrial action. That is over a hundred thousand people who you Wolves have no idea what they voted for. For clarity. If the points raised by the CWU are not settled amicably the industrial action will take place. There will be no waiting until RM are ready to discuss a deal the dispute continues until such time that we have an agreement on all the points we raised you know the ones Wolves doesn't have a clue about. #The CWU will not let Royal Mail drag this out until the work dies down that aint going to happen trust me on that

You see on the ballot paper were 21 bullet points setting out exactly what the dispute about I can recite them verbatim but I will leave it to Wolves and pick him out when he gets it completely wrong which he will. You see apart from that every single unit has had a gate meeting there have been Branch meetings message updates constantly on WhatsApp postings out to members houses setting out in writing exactly what the issues are. Along with the vast swathe of social media outlets mostly on face book from the CWU page from CWU Branch pages also on Twitter. Nobody and I mean absolutely nobody should be in the dark about what this dispute is about so don't listen to Wolves he talks nonsense he obviously has a personal angst against the union

So to reiterate we will lose some custom, now what part of that do you not understand? They always come back eventually so don't get so emotional it is not the end of the world

Trust me when I tell you the Industrial Action is going to be marvellous the ground work has been done and the legalities ironed out. You have seen from my last post that the competition cannot cope now with the volumes that they have Herms and Yodel are classic examples they have staff leaving daily sick to death of the way they are being treated. We are not into peak yet and the competition are struggling like hell, they wont cope with anymore and come pressure and the strike they are not a threat at all. Yeah we will lose some custom but it will come back no doubt about that no one has a network like ours. So bring it on we are ready and for as long as it takes

Need we say more!! This from a Hermes employee today.
Today has been a disaster! After still not receiving any sign of a manifest until 12.15 I decided I was not going out today with my rounds. I had already told my FM I wasn’t going out without a manifest at 11am but she told me they were online at COL. This wasn’t true and they didn’t show on COL on my phone until 12.15 and two other couriers checked their phones and handsets before I left the depot just after 11.
My FM called me at 3pm to see if I would go out with my rounds to which I refused - it takes me 4 hours at the best of times on a Sunday and I haven’t even got to depot or sorted it etc. I’m sure not delivering until 8-9pm on a Sunday night.
The sad part about all this is if Hermes were actually a bit more respectful towards their couriers and treated us fairly and even paid us what they owe us correctly and on time then at times of such problems as these I’m sure many couriers would step up and be prepared to help out this morning, in the knowledge that Hermes would sort out the payments honestly and maybe even pay us extra for the inconvenience. Instead we are expected to put up with it even on a Sunday which isn’t even compulsory.
We already go above and beyond to assist our customers where we can and so many problems could easily be avoided if Hermes even paid attention to the surveys they send out to us let alone listen to us whenever we voice our opinions the rest of the time!
