RE: Strong buy3 Sep 2017 19:04
I'm not shorting and currently would not take a position either way.
My gut instinct is that Telit is a good company, I do not like to see anything fail & I sincerely hope it enjoys a successful recovery. However I believe there to be legitimate concerns over whether this is possible and until such time as the facts are known consider this share to be pure gambling.
Should the company be given the all-clear or provide a credible strategy to address any issues that might be uncovered then I would consider investing (hence my interest) with the expectation that a healthy recovery would likely be possible over a 12 - 18mth period all going well. In the meantime, while I hope that it does not fail, I remain vigilant to that possibility and will not risk taking a position... I would prefer to ultimately buy at £2 and enjoy a genuine recovery to £2.50 once we know where we stand than risk losing my cash buying at £1 on an in-the-dark high-risk gamble.
As stated, I believe the recent rise to be without foundation & suspect a P&D possible if not likely. I imagine many snapped up shares for say 140p in the initial bounce hoping for large gains in an instant recovery to 200p plus for example. Such people will have been dismayed by their loss in the drop to a little over 100p and their short-term greed based outlook would make them extremely vulnerable to this (P&D) scenario. I don't like to see anyone get hurt and hope this is not the case however I remain sceptical of a brisk exaggerated rise not based on material facts and would not be surprised to see a spike around the current level.
Regardless of whether the SP is less than 100p or more than 170p I do not consider it to be a fair reflection of the value of the company until the material facts that determine said value are known. It could be worth £3 and it could be worth nothing.
Pure high-risk gambling... there will be winners for sure but, as with all gambling, there are likely to be far more losers and the only real winners are those who run the casino & cream off a small % of every single transaction up or down.
IMHO, DYOR, GLA etc etc
